bibim (= mix) bap (= rice) So, to make bibimbap, you need to put the rice in a vegetable bowl and mix it well. And enjoy it!! If you don't like spicy food, ask for soy sauce seasoning instead of gochujang(red pepper paste) seasoning.

@@JacobandJennyTravel I'm so glad you did that. When I eat bibimbap, I eat half of the rice as bibimbap and the other half with other side dishes. Rice is the main dish in Korean meals. And all side dishes(banchan) exist to make the rice taste better. The job of all side dishes is to season the rice. In other words, all side dishes taste best when eaten with rice. If you only eat side dishes without rice, Koreans will worry that it will be too salty. Since ancient times, Korean people have wanted to consume balanced nutrition, which is why there are various side dishes. So not only me but all Koreans will like you to try a variety of different side dishes with each spoon of rice. I'm sure every Korean viewers will want you to get balanced nutrition. One more tip here! typically, rice and soup are eaten with spoons, and chopsticks are used to pick up side dishes.

@@JacobandJennyTravel I'll tell you one more thing!! I think you often eat 'ssam(wrapping)' in Korea, because 'Ssam' is an important way to consume all the taste and nutrition of Korean food. If you are going to eat 'ssam', I recommend making the ssam into portions that you can eat in one bite and eating it in one bite. That way, you will be able to taste all the flavors at once. I wrote it here because Koreans feel very sorry that foreigners, when eating ssam, make it too big and eat it like a taco. 😅 Please continue to enjoy Korean food to your heart’s content. And I'm really enjoying your video.👍

Oh... speaking of bibimbap... 'bibim' means 'mix' or 'blend,' and 'bap' means 'cooked rice.' So, you add your rice to the bibim bowl, meaning you should mix them all together rather than eating them separately. This is my first time seeing someone eating them separately. I reckon if you mixed it with rice, it wouldn't be that spicy hahaha : ) Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip in Korea xx

Hello again, Jacob and Jenny! Korea is not a country that I really know well, and I haven't explored it, so your video here is really an eye opener for me! It seems like everywhere you go, you find a new wonderland waiting for you - it's wonderful to be that joyful and to have that magical ability. My main contact with Korea has been through the president of my acupuncture school, Dr. Kim. He was very psychic and intuitive, and showed us how he could read a patient's life just through psychic impressions. I actually met him in a dream shortly before I met him in person, so meeting him physically was kind of like a deja vu experience.

@@JacobandJennyTravel You're welcome, Jacob and Jenny! You know, there are a few things that I have noticed about you guys - First of all, you seem to be trendsetters - it seems like wherever you go, other travel video posters on KZfaq have followed, doing their own takes. Secondly, I wonder if you have ever thought of doing videos, or writing travel guides, that make an effort to digest and sum up all the places you've been, making some sense and order of all your diverse travel experiences. Kind of like data and meta-data, I suppose. It seems like you wax ecstatic about just every place you visit, and it keeps just getting better and better - but how do you get some sense of perspective on it all?

Hope you guys went to a makgeolli restaurant while in Jeonju. What you do is order a kettle of makgeolli and you get lots of dishes (around 10 or more) that are supposed to complement the makgeolli type you ordered. For the amount of food you get plus the alcohol, it is good deal Kettle prices range from $20 to $50,. Plus, you get to try a lot of food that aren't known in the west. Too bad you are only two people as you could try up to 3 different types of kettles and get around 30 to 40 different types of dishes (not side dishes). If you decide to try it, make sure you are hungry because you get a lot of food.

In the ancient Korea (Chaoxian朝鮮 -Real historical name, Chinese territory and the Chinese regio before 1910). In 918-1910. It was two different ethnic groups. 1.Chinese (Han Ethnic)(Wear color and pattern clothes) - Ruler and nobleman 2. Korean (White Clothes Ethnic)( Wear white clothes without pattern) - Civilians and slaves 1. Ruler and nobleman (Goguryeo高句麗 , Baekje百濟, Silla新羅 , Goryeo高麗, Joseon朝鮮=Chaoxian朝鮮 ..): Chinese local officials and nobles (royal members, monks, scholars, soldiers, architects, technicians, and their families ...). They are Chinese (Han) and their descendants born in the local area. They have always wore China in China costumes. They speak Chinese language (official and Han dialect) and Chinese characters. They are Chinese officials and represent the Chinese emperor's governance of the ancient Korean Peninsula (朝鮮). Local Chinese officials (Chaoxian king朝鮮王) and Chinese nobles in ancient Korea (Chaoxian 朝鮮-Chinese territory). They all Chinese clothes (hanfu), headdress (hat and crown), silk cloth (including embroidery), soldiers (such as: defensive clothing, horses). Weapons (including cannons), Chinese literature books (including Chinese history, Taoism Buddhism), Chinese special architectural materials (including palaces and design paintings). Food materials (Chinese food and Chinese royal food), wooden wheels used, large military ships, etc. are made from other cities in China). Among them, the Chinese royal's (Chaoxian king /officials and nobles) Hanfu comes from Chinese han clothes, opera clothing, and hat crown headwear. Therefore, the fabric on the clothes is high -level. There are a large number of Chinese official dragon patterns and various traditional Chinese patterns (including Chinese characters) on the clothes. 2. Civilians and slaves (Goryeo高麗, Joseon=Chaoxian朝鮮 ..only appeared in history after the 13th century): Civilians and slaves are indigenous Koreans (White Clothes Ethnic白衣民族). They speak Korean language. Long -term banned learning and use of Chinese characters 漢字(except a few descendants of mixed with Chinese people). Korean people cannot use any pattern of Chinese imperial power. 龍dragon and 鳯phoenix. In ancient times, this was a beheading and destroyer. * Chinese patterns and Dragon's totem represents the symbol of the ancient Chinese and Chinese power. Korean people cannot use any pattern of Chinese imperial power. 龍dragon and 鳯phoenix. Only the Chinese royal family and senior officers can use it. If the "White clothes Ethnic 白衣民族" (today's ancestors of Koreans) use the pattern of dragon and use Chinese characters. They will destroy the tribe and beheaded. Korean characters韓字 are text used by slaves. Ancient Korean can only use Korean characters (after the 15th century. Chinese officials - Chaoxian king and Chinese scholars who settled on the Chaoxian朝鮮 . Chinese officials use Chinese characters and Korean language to create "Korean characters韓字 ".) for slaves. These low Korean soldiers are used to protect the Chaoxian Peninsula 朝鮮半島(Chinese territory) to prevent Japanese pirates from invasion. In ancient Korea (Chaoxian朝鮮 ) does not have any technologies and processes such as metal , Bend the wood and dye embroidery patterns. Most Korean men became low -level soldiers in the Chinese army (under the command of Chinese officers). There is no armor. Korean only wear pure white clothes and korean women's clothing is exposed nipples (Hanbok - Features of traditional Korean clothes). All Korean women use their heads to move anything (similar to other primitive tribal culture). Korean houses are cottage built with grass (only Chinese can live in Chinese palaces and temples). Korean people earn food in the market concentrated on exchanging items. They do not have any coins and any metal things. South Korea's national culture and tools for use are very primitive. * Chinese patterns and dragon totems represent the ancient Chinese and symbols of Chinese power. Only the Chinese royal family and high-ranking military officers can use them. If the "White clothes Ethnic 白衣民族" (today's ancestors of Koreans) use dragon patterns and use Chinese characters ((In addition to the mulattoes and those working in the Chinese palace)), they will be exterminated. and beheaded. Writing history is the tradition and habit of the ancient Chinese. The history of the ancient Korean Peninsula was written by classical Chinese. This was read for the Chinese and must be approved for the Chinese emperor. This is a record and governance story of Chinese officials and nobles on the ancient Korean Peninsula.

Before the Joseon Dynasty, there was the Three Kingdoms period. During the Three Kingdoms period, there were three countries: Baekje, Goguryeo, and Silla. Baekje's headquarters were Buyeo, Gongju, and Jeonju. There are Baekje base and Silla base in Korea. Silla's headquarters is Gyeongju. Goguryeo's headquarters were in North Korea and the northeastern region of present-day China. Goguryeo's territory was the largest, and the northeastern part of present-day China was Goguryeo's territory, and 3:1 of China's territory was Goguryeo's territory. The period before the Three Kingdoms period is the Goryeo period. The current name of the country, Korea, originated from the Goryeo Dynasty.

Bibimbap is a food that you eat by adding rice and mixing it all together. If you don't put rice in bibimbap or mix it properly, it's like eating a hamburger taken apart. If you don't know, ask the store owner to learn how to eat it properly. If you don't know something at another restaurant, be sure to ask the owner to be sure. It's never shameful to ask.

Jeonju Hanok Village is Korea's cultural capital? Nah! It's just a big theme park without walls where you can enjoy being ripped off for mediocre street foods. You can find real traditional K-culture OUTSIDE the Hanok village. Please try other parts of Jeonju. You won't regret it.
