In this Poland travel guide and Poland vlog we will show you The Land of Fields. Bydgoszcz is a must-visit spot if you're making your way to this amazing country.
There are certain towns and cities that everyone visits when in Poland. While we did visit those, we also went off the beaten path. Our day exploring did not go as we had planned. But we have been in Poland long enough to know that this country is full of surprises. So, is it worth going to a city that most others don't think twice about? Come with us to Bydgoszcz Poland. And let's see if we can discover what most tourists miss...

W języku polskim Polska nazywa się „Polska”. Dosłownie oznacza „Krainę Pól” i pochodzi od słowa „biegun” oznaczającego „równinę / pole”. Powinieneś dodać Polskę do swojej podróżniczej listy życzeń!
Jedź z nami do Bydgoszczy. I zobaczmy, czy uda nam się odkryć to, za czym tęskni większość turystów...

I was in Gdynia in 2019 as a solo, 50+ year old American traveler. I took the train to Bydgoszcz on a whim, simply because I thought the name 'Bydgoszcz' was interesting. I liked Bydgoszcz so much, the lack of tourists, the quietness, the architecture, the Hotel Pod Orlem, that I stayed in Bydgoszcz for well over 3 weeks. To this day, I think of Bydgoszcz fondly as it was the perfect place for me at that time in my life.

It's always good to visit the lesser known cities and places - sometimes they offer up the best surprises like this one did. I hadn't heard of it before but now I know where to go to find great Polish food and drink, the Museum of Soap and Dirt (which is definitely way cooler than it sounds!) and a lovable mascot crossing the river on a tightrope. Another terrific vlog from Poland!

The balancing man statue is so awesome I would have never believed it but like they say seeing is believing what a hidden gem just remarkable and I see they used a cinderella styled wedding coach for people to sit and enjoy themselves and of course the deserts are always looking so good and the animatronic cleaning lady coming out of the automatic doors was unbelievable that definitely was unique what ingenuity went into doing that it was totally awesome to see and always love seeing the stain glass and hearing the wonderful organ music in the sanctuary and good job on finding the patches on your first store run and for free sounds good to me and you were given the opportunity to make your own soap awesome now how many people can say that and they turned out amazing good job so witytravels from all the impressive statues to the great hospitality and making your own soap and all the hidden gems this has been another incredible masterpiece from this wonderful country called poland ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Well, the fact that lots of tourists go would definitely not put us off, we'd want to know what all the fuss is about. Aw, the Christmas markets are being packed away....loved watching your market videos over the last few weeks, oh and Will, Christmas NEVER ends haha. Liking the look of those beers....oh and the meringue!! Fudge latte...looking good too. Woah, who is that making a pact with the devil? That's a bit freaky. That church is stunning too, we love visiting old churches. What a lovely gesture to give you the patch...and the sweets. We would definitely take a look around that museum, the encoding machine looks cool, very interesting. Loving that you're making your own Christmas soap bars. More mulled beer, we so need some of that!! Loved it as always both x

Nice :) But you have missed still many things. Food: You should have tried the "Manekin" - pancakes and more. Also Hotel Bohema (5 stars) has nice restaurants (including "Black Diamond" where you eat in complete darkness and also "molecular kitchen" which is mix of physics, chemistry and a good food). And tea-place "Asia" (which is a shorted version of name "Joanna", not the continent). Then "Exploseum" - because in this area there was once a large German explosives manufacturing plant hidden deep in the woods, later chemical plant and currently a museum (and a large area that is very polluted). You can visit some (few) underground bunkers where Germans forced slaves (Poles, Jews and others) to work (a side note: do you know that word "slave" has its origins in word "Slav"?). Nearby city Toruń is a wonderful place - while other cities were destroyed (by Germans and later by Russians and their occupation over dozens of years), the Toruń is left in a relatively good shape. There are also plenty of dams (small ones) and summer-only boat you can travel (it is very cheap). Surrounding areas offer great kayaking routes - from easy to extreme. Thanks for a very nice video :)
