For this episode, Hansal graciously agreed to cook for us and that too, in front of the camera. It was a crazy conversation featuring Scoop, Scam 1992, his love for cinema, cooking, his time in Fiji and how he got into filmmaking. From his movies Shahid and Omerta, his favourite directors and their works to his memories of the Emergency, we discussed quite a lot.
PS: Hansal also revealed his connection with Rajiv Gandhi and how big of a fan Gandhi was of Sitafal ice cream (who knew that!).

Hansal Mehta has a knack of making films as real as it can be. He is known for making films on real life topics like omerta, scam 1992, scam 2003 and Faraz. Social commentary is also an integral part of his cinema. Shahid and aligarh are examples of that. He knows the value of an actor. He does not chase stars like madness but handpicks the actors who can do justice to the role. Portraying the nuances in characters is his most important talent. He knows the screenplay and direction at the back of his hand.

Excellent interview!! Great production, filming and editing. I had bought a pair of Woodland from Vashi, Navi Mumbai in 2013, it is still in excellent condition. That time Woodland shoes with bold, tyres type looking soles were in fashion. I love to have them while enjoying on motorcycle tours 😊. Great product.
