Met Mr. Along in early 2000s. He is a friend of my best friend's elder sister. His village is not far from Assam's border with Mariani in Jorhat district being the last border town. Fun fact- Mokokchung had a very strong TV station. In 80-90s we would align the antenna to that station so we can watch DD National and DD metro.

I agree..actually I spent my childhood there as he was a business man.. I still call Mokokchung as my home .. sadly something gone wrong in 2007 that forced us to leave Mokokchung but as you said we have DD national DD news and cable channels also.. I watch many interviews about Nagaland and still find like Mokokchung is one of the beat developed district even after so long..

I went to dimapur and kohima for my friends wedding and i was shocked to see how under developed it was, the airport was in a bad shape but on the way from airport to the hotel grand tizu it was the worst road i ve ever seen in a city of a state. I could see that corruption in the state is so bad that people who had fancy cars and went out to bars were all politicians relatives. I love the northeast of india because i have so many friends from the region but i hope it gets bettter because there are hundreds of underground outfits in the 7 states and locals have to pay to the underground outfit to be in good books to make living.

It's not corruption. It's the failure of the voters. Politicians campaigned & promised to give good roads and societal amenities. But if we take a step back and look at it, why the hell should they promise to fix roads? IT'S THEIR GODDAMN DUTY TO FIX AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC ROADS, not something to even question about. But our foolish voters get swayed by those empty promises, and they sell their votes for meagre change. That's how we end up having no actual change or progress.

@@BatukaBhairavaSevak_Tuhin absolutely. I very much agree with you. I think he has a good start. All of India knows him well. He is close to ground realities, educated, and has a decent portfolio to handle at a young age. He has many decades of political career ahead of him. As the North East develops more and more, I do believe he will have a more central role to play, much like Kiren Rijiju.

@@dexterroy yes, although I am not from any party but I do credit this central gov to mainstream NorthEast super effectively, one ex. Kiran Roju ji, very good minister.
