This time around I decided to start a series about some older 'classic' matches from older World Cups. I tried to find decent footage from older matches and put them together. The matches are picked for their goals, stage, iconic players and entertainment. In this video you'll see players like Maradona, Beckham, Shearer, Totti and many more. Hopefully you will enjoy these classic World Cup matches as much as I did creating this video. I haven't seen most of these matches before, so it was really fun. Argentina England 1998 was one of the best football games that I ever saw. And the final 1986 Argentina Germany I also watched in TV as a kid of ten years. :) Great memories.

Gee. That 2002 Italy-S.Korea match sure seemed like a totally normal game without any controversy or anything abnormal. Btw did you guys know that the Referee who officiated that game was suddenly and without any reason suspended for 3 months afterwards? Also some years later, thats a fun fact Im sure you´ll like, he got sentenced to prison in the USA after trying to smuggle in Heroin.

@Michael Tappin You seem to be conflating two games there. As far as the 86 game goes, if Maradona hand't got away with the first goal, he might have found it a lot more difficult to score the wonder goal as the England players wouldn't have still been in shell shock. As far as the 98 game goes, England probably were the better team. We can only imagine what might have happened if a. Seaman hand't given away a penalty needlessly or b. Beckham hadn't fouled a player when the ball wasn't even in play or c. Shearer hadn't tried to elbow someone in the face when Campbell was scoring what should have been the winning goal. England fans are always moaning that 'we should have won' or that 'we were robbed' or likewise. A lot of the time it isn't as clear cut but in 98 we probably should have won but we were our own worst enemy. Two decades on and the country seems to behave like the football team.

@@davids2742 England are often hypocrites. To hear an English fan speak, much of the time you could be forgiven for thinking we never lost a game fair and square. It's difficult to see from the angles given whether Owen dives or not but it does look suspect. Worse than that was Shearer elbowing an Argentinian in the face which meant Sol Campbell's winner was disallowed. Shearer seemed predisposed to fouling opposition players.
