Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

A couple nights ago I was headed to pick up my husband from work. It is a half hour drive on a State route. My 4 yr old grandson goes with me to pick up his grandfather. A semi flew passed us. He asked me what that truck was doing. I told hm speeding. Next thing I know I hear him say call the police. I was like no don't call the police. The phone rings. He had called the police. So now here I am explaining to the dispatcher what had happened. You could hear the amusement in his voice as he asked my name and we hung up after.

When my now 26 year old was about 5, I have a heart condition, mild but it’s there, so I decided that my kid needed to know about 911, being a single mom I wanted her to know what to do if I was not responsive, it went wrong, landline era, I was fixing a broken chair and was like how nice it would be to have help today, my daughter took it and ran, right to the phone and called 911 to see if they could come help her mom, when she handed my the phone and it’s a 911 operator I realized I needed to reword the whole 911 conversation. The lady on the phone was in good humor about it.

That's so sweet! My mom at least made sure to say 911 was for Really Big emergencies only. Both my brother and I were extremely literal children - autism - and she had learned by then that if she felt she was being too specific, she probably wasn't being specific enough.

Smosh had an AITA story about a guy who would tell his girlfriend that she smelled bad all the time to the point where she was showering multiple times a day, asking her doctor what was wrong and going mentally insane and when she finally cut ties with him, he fessed up and said he learned from his father that if he made his girlfriend feel so low about herself, she’d never leave. My jaw dropped then and it’s dropping now. Who the actual fuck is so sadistic that they put their partners through this?!?!

Shower curtains make me nervous for that exact reason- (it's probably from watching "Psycho" as a child!). My dad was very protective, and when he was helping me get stuff for my first college apartment, he insisted that I buy an absolutely see-through shower curtain! It really was reassuring to know there wasn't an axe-murderer standing in my tub, so I've bought clear shower curtains for almost 40 years now 😁🤣

I spent most of my life being severely vision impaired. I suspect we feel so freaked out by stuff in showers because we ARE so vulnerable while in there. I agree with your dad - clear shower curtains are a must. I’m lucky enough to have several dogs, one of which has serious separation anxiety so is always - and I mean ALWAYS with me lol. So she stays in the bathroom while my other dogs all lay right outside the bathroom door. Multiple layers of protection or at least an early warning system, lol. Since my eye surgery, I do find I’m not as freaked out during showers anymore - being able to see everything while in there definitely helps

There was a reddit story where a woman’s fiancé would constantly tell her she smelled bad. It made her so miserable, but she eventually figured out with the help of her friends that it wasn’t true at all. When she finally confronted her fiancé, he confessed that his father did the same thing to his mother to destroy her confidence so she would never leave him. It's especially bad when you understand Korean culture. They are the plastic surgery capital of the world. Dismorphia is practically part of the culture. Teenagers are often gifted surgeries for HS graduations. So to find a natural Korean woman is somewhat rare, to have her then to absolutely try to tear her down is gross. It's not a wonder Asian women prefer western men.

I was staying in a hotel once, and was woken out of a sound-sleep in the middle of the night. A bunch of cops were banging on the door of the guy in the room next to mine and they were screaming at him to open the door and put his hands up. The painting in MY room was shaking because they pounded on his door so hard! He refused to open the door, so they used something to make a big crater in his door, and were able to get to him and toss him in the hallway. I was looking through the "peep-hole" on the door, watching at least 5 cops literally dragging his butt down the hall...it was pretty exciting, I'm not going to lie! I found out later that the guy had big sacks of drugs stacked up in his room. Geez, I'm just glad they didn't mistake my room for his 😲😲

That last story reminded of the drama going on in my mom's neighborhood currently. Basically, all the neighbors are waiting for the day he gets locked up because so far dude has: attacked and choked his mother, threatened to unalive her and burn down the 2 houses he owns 2 doors down from MY mom, been caught setting fires, running around in the road jumping in front of cars, leaving his truck parked in the middle of the road, breaking out the windows of one of the houses when he has been instructed to stay out (condemned property), sat with a lit citronella candle in middle neighbor's carport with her propane turned on next to him, got tased by a neighbor when he trespassed on their property, and remember the fire threat? @@rhileynnnaHave you told him how you feel? It's really easy in long-term relationships to get settled and make less and less effort. Problem is, marriages take effort and constant work to keep them happy and healthy. It doesn't have to be a row or an accusation, just two people who love each other, having a respectful conversation and saying how they feel. You may find out things he misses about your early relationship, just as he will find out how you feel. So long as nobody feels attacked and it's done in a mutually respectful way, you may find it really helpful. Trust me, every married couple have to talk to each other about things like this. But if you let it fester, you'll get resentful and it could threaten your union and long-term happiness. Wishing you the very best of luck 💖

I learned that the hard way (to not hang up) when I was a kid. We were just being dumb kids and messing around “pretending” we were going to call 911, and of course we accidentally ended up initiating the call (it was a home phone with no call button, so it would just start ringing after you dialed). We freaked out as soon as we heard it ringing and hung up immediately, but they called us back repeatedly until my mom answered and she asked us if we called 911. Got in trouble, of course, and the operator told us if that ever happens again, to not hang up! But we never messed around like that again. 😂

@@user-ky5rk3up9e Yeah, just explain it's a wrong # if you call 911 accidentally. I accidentally called them a couple of times trying to dial 411 (old landline days) for "information" , forgot to explain before hangup that I dialed 911 by mistake and shortly there they were at my door. They said be careful because they can charge you $$, either a fee or a fine ( I think it's a fine), I forget which, for accidentally calling. It was considered equivalent to messing around with or prank calling on the emergency fire department phones they used to have on phone poles when I was a child (even older landline days, lol). Even if it's accidental, after the first time they could fine you as if you had made a prank call to 911. So, be careful. Kids have no business having access to cell phones in the first place since its so very easy to put them out of reach. I mean, it's not like it's some heavy bakelite desk phone from the 1950s or 1960s or something ( the plug in the wall back then was NOT detachable until years later-phone guy had to go into the wall and hook up the phone and if you did manage to cut or snap the cord {very heavy duty cord, very hard to do}, there was no store where you could get a replacement for that type of cord, for even that ability came much later with the phone line jacks and the clear snap in plugs). The phone company had to send out someone who was more like an electrician to replace the cord and the in-wall plug. You can lock a cell phone in a cabinet, put it up very high, hide it, etc. Why do people let toddlers and children think that appliances and tools are toys? That's how kids get hurt. Some parents have the attention spans of fleas, too busy being kids themselves to parent properly. What happened to his wife's promise to watch them? Why wasn't the door locked, because I will guarantee it's not the first time the child has been allowed to wander from its mother's sight or care. Kids having kids. Ugh‼️☎️🏴‍☠️😤☠️⚠️⚡

I once heard my daughter talking in her room and assumed she was playing with dolls, or maybe an app as I'd given her an old phone that had no sim, and loaded it with some apps for her age. She was about 5. After a few minutes i realise she sounds like she is talking to someone... there are pauses... not like she is play acting 2 dolls talking. I go in and ask her what she is doing and she tells me she is talking to the policeman. I laugh and say oh OK, what are you telling him? She says she is telling him how our cat was missing (10 minutes earlier we had searched for our cat that got out) I'm like oh OK, we continue talking about her call to the "policeman" when i realise i can hear something coming from the phone. That's when i found out you can call emergency services with a phone that doesn't have a sim card. The officer was very nice about it, and asked me questions to make sure that there wasn't a bad situation going on and she was using the cat as pretext to get help. He asked if the cat was OK and was so embarrassed telling him that yes the cat was just hiding under the car and my husband had brought him in already.

The story with the dad getting the visit from the SWAT team reminded me so much of what happened with my niece. My dad (her grandpa) had just explained to her how 911 worked and to only call it in an emergency, but my niece, being the bone headed kid that she was, called it anyway. Only she did not think that anyone would actually be on the line, so she immediately dropped the phone when the 911 operator answered and asked for her emergency, causing the headset to crash and break a ceramic cat food dish before she slammed it down again. Well, a police officer of course came, and the girl was bawling at the top of her lungs because she thought that she was going to go to jail. Luckily he understood, though he did do a full search of our house even so.

Many years ago, 26, my one year old grabbed the handheld house phone. Went under the dining table and started pushing the numbers. Well his small hands are perfect for the one and nine. Grab the kid and phone from under the table maybe a minute later. Put the phone away, take my son and husband outside to wash cars. Just finish pulling both cars into the driveway when a couple of cops show up. Yup. Even on that old fashioned handheld the one year old was able to dial 911.

Beauty is so very much in the eye of the beholder. Seriously I used to work in a scenario where looks were the primary factor on how much money you made and I learned that fact. Everyone has a different idea of what’s beautiful to them. I truly believe that there’s someone out there for everyone. So you may be unattractive to some but to others you’re beautiful. And the only one whose opinion matters anyway is you. So I hope you have a great day and never think of yourself as unattractive ever again.

Fun fact: it DOES NOT MATTER what you dial after the first 911. You can press whatever you want to but if it starts with 911 it will only go to emergency services. Pro tip if you need to pretend you're calling for a pizza or something but need help. And even though I explained what happened, because it was a call from a business, they still were required to send a squad car over to the store to verify nothing was wrong. Idk. In this day and age, it would be hard to teach a toddler to dial 911 if you don’t have a home phone. My 3 year old called the cops when our house got broken into. And I’m grateful she could. So I think this feature is a good thing.

@@beverlystewart1096 that’s handy. Most of us would have to teach a child the unlock and then how to access phone. If they are under 3 they won’t be able to remember that process.

I had a sugar daddy, and I ended up moving into his house, and that was a huge mistake. When I decided that the life where I had to give up my freedom wasn't for me, he wouldn't let me go, and he beat me for wanting to leave. But I finally managed to escape and I'm doing better now.

One time my iPhone dialed 911 while it was in my pocket at work. Important to note: I was working in Epcot at Disney world in Orlando. Not only did a “fleet of OPD officers” show up looking for me but so did 5 Disney security guards. I told them what happened and they were upset but understanding. I didn’t kept my phone in my pocket at work for like 2 months after that 🤣🤣

Former 911 dispatcher here, if you accidentally call please just let the dispatcher know instead of hanging up. We have to call you back and if you don't answer we will send an officer out to the closest location your phone is pinging from. It's a safety situation that we do not know if something is actually going on and just can't be on the phone so we have to send someone out. Please just let the dispatcher know you accidentally called.

@@GhostBear3067 I used to work for a company that monitored those alarms and had to call dispatch. lots of false alarms. if we can't get a double confirmation that they are okay, we have to send someone. family, or if we can't get ahold of them (or they don't have any), emergency services.

What if there's not much signal and it connects briefly enough to register but you can't tell them it was an accident or recieve a call back? Do you get in trouble for the govt not putting working towers up? XD I'm used to never having signal outside of cities and I live in the middle of nowhere and our country's telephone provider is getting rid of landlines while we have no mobile signal most everywhere. We're expected to have internet with no phone lines too. Guess I'll become a deeper hermit than I am already.
