I think that lampshade is meant for a small bedside lamp or a reading lamp rather than a hanging ceiling lamp. The connection circle is at the bottom which means, if you manage to put it up, the bulb will be hanging out of it from the bottom. I'd recommend checking to see if you can get another lampshade meant for a ceiling lamp! You have a lovely room this year, the desk is brilliant. x

I've been living in an apartment with one roommate for two years and I'm returning soon for my third year of uni 🥰 (in my country it's more common to stay in the same housing your whole time you're in uni) I'm so excited to make some changes to my room and make it look all cute before I start the year!

Lydia I think you’re struggling with the light shade because it’s a lamp shade like for a smaller bedside lamp - the inside part does not look like it’s for a ceiling light! 😭

I would recommend Unite Students accommodation, if you want don't want to live in a house in your second or third year. Lived there for 2 years and it is an amazing place, that help you with literally any issue you got really fast.

You could definitely try filling the holes to get your deposit back (and take photos of the existing holes to prove it wasn’t you)!
