As a new user I think this is the best and most informative video I have seen. My only 'but' is the fact that sometimes you shoot through the menu options so fast that I have to keep repeating the clip to see what you have pressed. Not a bad thing as I learn even more but maybe a little slower for us new users with old fingers. Thanks again, it is greatly appreciated. Russell

Man this was perfect. This thing was bewildering when I got it. I managed to program in the local civil air CTAF's and that's what I originally wanted but the instructions are not really well written so I put the scanner up for a while. Found this video now I can use every function. Thanks a ton!

Nice review! Many thanks! I have wanted a scanner for many years for air band, PMR (similar to GMRS), public service radio and the like. Your review has convinced me that the 125AT has the most bang for the buck. Over here (Switzerland) it's sold as the Albrecht AE125H. Although it must be fascinating to listen to the emergency services, here it is not possible because of the encrypted UHF trunking systems they use. All the best, Rob (Switzerland)

Thanks for the video. Being a ham radio operator I got thru all of the scanner functions except 2 which where annoying: not going to a bank in one function and also direct to a channel without scrolling thru hundreds.

Totally agree with you on the 125AT as a good little aircom scanner for both VHF/UHF... that is the primary use of mine as well. Thanks for the video!!

Informative video. My two cents worth of comments is that I wish you had turned off the Beeps. I find them annoying. At least you had it turned down some. I have seen other videos where the Beeps dominate the sound and even if I put video on low volume the beeps carry into the rest of the apartment waking up others. But still a good video.

great review I've had for over a week and couldn't figure it out - this is my 3rd scanner, first one lasted forever, radioshack, then went to aa radioshack trucker which i still can't figure out. next the bc125at. now that i know what I'm sort of doing thanks to you, i have to see if its compatible with my iMac.

I’m searching and watching every video I can find to learn how to use this scanner. Very humbling. All I want to do is scan the aviation banks. I can fly a plane but really struggle with this little booger. I’ll figure it out.

I use mine for the railroads. Works great for me.

I just ordered one of those. Most scanners only include Civilian air band, this one also has Military air bands. Hard to beat for $120 (from walmart website.) Now I can disconnect some of the Baofeng transceivers I've been using to monitor local fire channels, and stick 'em in the Faraday box.

Just received this 125 AT radio new. What's a good antenna for portability and improved over stock antenna. Btw I already use a BC436HPfor higher frequencies. Hoping there is more to listen in lower frequencies with the 125AT. Thanks for the videos.

Nice video, I just picked up one of these and the video helped fill in some info gaps. I do have a couple of questions as a newbie to scanners. 1) it looks like you have a different antenna than mine came with is tat an upgrade you purchased? 2) Are we able to download frequencies from the Web through our computers onto this radio?

So does the close call bands only control the bands for close call or the bands for the entire scanner

why will the scanner not unlock all? i try the ways as stated but it does not unlock anything. the L/O icon is always there.

i just acquired this model, and i'm unable to use any of the button on the device. When i push Func + hold, i dont get that menu you showed. I hope its not faulty, as i bought it used .. is there anything you may think i'm missing? also, when i try to power off, i double tap the power button and it wont turn off. i was told thats how its done?

My unit is displaying "hold" and will not clear/release using the hold button. I have also tried to "factory reset" to no available. I can manually select a programmed channel. Any help would be appreciated.

I set some frequency's in bank 1 for my home area and some others in bank 2 for my mothers home area. How do I switch between scanning bank 1 & 2?

On your video showing how to program frequencies, I wouldn't enter the frequencies the way you did. I would Google Railroad Frequencies in your area and enter them by channel. Railroad frequencies have a channel # with the frequency. So advance your scanner to the appropriate channel # and enter the frequency for that channel there. In you example you used 160.8000. That's channel 46 so advance to channel 46 and enter the frequency for that channel. That way when you're railfanning with other people and they say channel 46 you'll know what they're talking about and you'll know the frequency as well.

This won't pick up police signals though will it, aren't most police digital now?

What an awful review! It’s all very well offering help, however you need to show on the video which buttons you are pressing and what they do, it is currently running through the demo far too fast to be of any use I’m afraid.
