That first driver didn't really know how to drive a Unimog...

I am part of the MVPA and we have a state chapter and every year we get a group together and will go on usually a week long truck run lots of jeeps and all M series US military trucks. A couple years ago we went to an extremely heavily wooded area and I drive my Unimog its a U1300L and it became shortly obvious that I was not going to be able to run in any challenging terrain because there was not another truck there that could ever get back to me to lend assistance! There was one section that we did go on and all the guys could talk about was how rough it was and how they had to be lo range 4 wd to get through that area, I stayed quiet, then the president of our chapter asked me what gear I had to drop down down to because it was "SO CHALLENGING" I finally told them the truth I was in 3rd gear and never once the entire week did I even use 4 WD! Be aware if your running a Unimog and your going to run in some challenging areas that you are going to be by yourself there are only a couple other trucks in the world that will keep up with you!
