The one and ONLY reason i chose the CF was because of that last mission on Neon before the finally. Commander Ikande chewed me tf out BECAUSE I SHOT A SANITATION ROBOT

Same. I killed a security robot too but no humans, just used EM weapons to knock them out. Hope someone makes a mod to fix this at some point.

This sort of interaction, while it’s cool and all, kinda breaks the immersion. How are you able to betray and kill a bunch of UC and still get access to new Atlantis AND still assist the UC with their quests. IMO, it shouldn’t have been UC Sysdef vs the crimson fleet, but another independent group unaffiliated to the UC. At least if you side with the crimson fleet, you aren’t necessarily going against the UC. And when you start the UC quest line after, they can still have unique dialogue about it

1. SysDef was created as scapegoat for the UC Navy's failure in stopping the Fleet during the earlier years. 2. The burecrats never believed the SysDef could ever stop the Crimson Fleet permanently. 3. You joined the Fleet undercover, and in the MAST mind, you remain undercover until they could use you in the future.

@@Microsoft-Excel-2010 But the issue is the game will still treat you as a Vanguard if you complete that questline. And you get all the necessary rewards. You've just given away their flagship to the fleet and then the next day, they give you UC citizenship and a penthouse

This. I wish I could explain to both the board and my companions "The UC can use its militarised police force to arrest its own citizens for any reason and send them to a torture facility. Then it weaponises its own bureaucracy to conveniently 'lose paperwork' and deny any recourse, all the while espousing the fairness and justice of its legal system. The CF does awful things to survive, but the UC does awful things to maintain power, and quite frankly I'm glad the fleet exists to loosen its stranglehold on the galaxy. That doesn't mean the UC isn't an ally of convenience against the Terrormorph threat." Something tells me that's a little too complex for Bethesda.

The entire crimson fleet quest line breaks the game. Once you started your undercover assignment and not finishing the quest line, all the outposts and mines involving crimson fleet pirates would just let you stroll in and do whatever you wanted to do because you are "one of them".

To me it does not. In my opinion it's part of the world building. Why would you be attacked by a faction you are a part of? Plus your statement is partially incorrect because you can finish the quest siding with the fleet. In my opinion, it's the best quest line in the game hands down.

@@ceeinfiniti1389 that's a faction supposedly have a lot of infighting over loot, so yeah it does completely break immersion when you can stroll in and interrupting other pirates looting a facility, and shoot them in the head with no repercussion. Also, the constant nagging from crew and companions when I behave like a pirate is really irritating, and we don't get any pirate companions.

@@lrock48 That is an issue I'll admit. It would be nice if there was more infighting in the Crimson Fleet. Still most of the time I like the fact that fellow pirates treat me as a friendly when I appear at some of their facilities, especially when some bounty hunters try to come and collect. The pirates mowed them down for me! The companions are definitely a major issue. I don't know how but Bethesda totally dropped the ball. You get 4 main ones from Constellation that are a heard of sheep. With any major quest-line and decisions, they all like and dislike the same things. The rest that you can hire or get from completing quest-lines can be nice but they don't add nearly as much. Personally from here on out I'm sticking with the Adoring Fan because he never complains and is a dork.

I mean, it would’ve helped if these people had a station where you could bring them illegal contraband for markup price like the criminal fleet giving you access to the mission board early on all these things to help players be convinced player 2 side with them outside of Pacific role-plays after all, it’s all about the cred

You may gain vendors but you lost a huge source of XP and loot as you can't just shoot at any pirates you see anymore. Unless you want to rack up so much bounty that you can't even step foot into the Key to offload contraband to your special vendors.

@@mcslender2965 Nah, the pirates never drop any good loot. Just crappy Maelstrom rifles. And you make way more money doing the pirate and smuggling missions. Especially the smuggling missions. They're so easy its silly.

@@imanrobota4849 getting 1 point in target control can make destroy the crimson fleet captain missions kinda profitable. Steal their ship, register it, return to yours then sell the raven at a spaceport (being wary that CF ships oft have contriband you'll need to offload in wolf).

I know siding with UC is the morally correct choice but losing access to the key is such a major consequence for siding with them. Almost makes you want to side with the fleet for that reason alone.

This kinda thing is cool but it shouldnt be in the game. Sidding with certain factions should lock off other factions.

@@johnmarino8052 wrong. It's fine that it's uc running the show and it makes sense they are, more so then any other faction their lore is directly connected to the terromorphs. You should just be locked out of quest lines for siding with specific factions. In the same way you should be able to critically fail quests for killing certain people or not doing something right. This isn't because the UC is involved with the quest, it's because Bethesda is afraid of making a game that doesn't hold you hand at all possible moments. You can go through the entire ryujin quest line slaughtering everyone on every mission despite being ordered to be stealthy and it changes literally nothing! It's just bad design.

I HATE that you can't kill Naeva after what a jerk she is to you throughout the questline. I know why, too. That makes it worse.

@@4badlisting650 Apparently that is so rare is has to be triggered by a console command. I have many hundreds of hours in this disappointing game, I beat the CF several times and never ever did Naeva come after me.

Hmm and here I thought that siding with Crimson would of made the game harder/ more of a nuisance with the other quests. My thing though is always building something up to the best of its ability so I can personally break it down again

Something I find really strange as well, is the experience from the opposite end of the spectrum here. A ship I stole had contraband, so I got nabbed and placed undercover by Sysdef, took the Crimson Fleet down. So... Why do random guards recognize me as this bigass UC hero, but there isn't a single mention or unique dialogue during this entire plotline? Shouldn't my actions grant me some sort of citizenship fast-track, or at least a mention from... Someone? Hell, if you can be such a notorious and accomplished pirate and still be able to do all this and have unique dialogue, why does my status as a Freestar Ranger also do nothing? Really odd all around

little bit of a rant here, but armor in this game is so unrealistic. Who would strap a large peice of metal to their chest? Isn’t that just unnecessary? And more expensive? They’re even wearing professional armor and still have that piece of metal. Is it for fun? Cosmetic? Is it the 5% more chance of intimidation?

Would love an option right there to point out the UC's actions when it comes to how you were able to get a lot of the Terrormorph information. You have a history, they have a history, let is all come to light and see how the cards fall... (at least I can escape it all by jumping to a new universe)
