A new helipad under construction at The University of Kansas Hospital is considered state-of-the-art and will benefit any patient needing emergent care, including the President of the United States.
Besides accommodating the hospital's increasing patient volume, the new helipad will be able to handle larger helicopters -- up to 30,000 pounds, compared with the 9,000-pound limit at the existing helipad.
