Completely agree. For all the initial power it has terrible internal balance

Honestly, Warpspiders are easily the coolest Aspect warriors and it's a damn shame they won't update their models. But sure. Let's release the 10th Primaris Tacticus unit but with a new weapon and the 40th Primaris Lieutenant

At this point, I think GW are going to update all the other old models then redo Warp Spiders last so they can make a big deal out of them being the oldest kit.

2nd ed. codex holder here. I loved the fluff there, particularly where Warp Spiders were involved. I also loved their unmatched ability to delete low Initiative units, which meant I almost never lost against Orks or Imperial Guard.

You forgot to talk about fire and fade. Your unit you select did not need to shoot. So warp spiders can move 36” and take an action.

Thanks for the brief! Playing Eldar for the first time in a narrative campaign and am hunting for good units since alot of their strength seems to lie in their named characters...

Shadow specters, Swooping Hawks and Warp Spiders might be my favourite aspect warriors. I just fear Shadow Specters aren't going to survive the codex since they are forgeworld units and they seem to be phasing them out

I am not a very experienced player so I might be wrong, but I like the 10 figs squad cause in addition to the things you explain, it is a good defensive unit with 11 D6 + dev wounds + overwatch (and phantasm if possible).
@WBConcilio15 күн бұрын
@@guillaume8568 it's a good tool for sure; it's just that for 250 points you could get something that is better at dev wound target elim

Lots of love for warp spiders, but my lead models are older than my children by at least double! And the sculpts are still current. None of this is interesting, but comments for the algorithm gods

I picked up some 2nd Ed. Spiders back in 3rd Ed. I found this usefull. Hey were old😂. What about using shroud runners to head off the Eldar host while spiders threaten the back field with deepbstrike or 24 inch move?

Getting behind enemy lines means they're dead the next turn. Is it worth it to throw away 125 points to score these 5 VP? So far I have decided they are not and delayed scoring the secondary. Is that a general misplay I'm making? I just purchased two Vypers, my idea is to use them for the ignore cover ability to help fire prisms more reliably kill their target to quickly take out what really needs to go. I'm looking forward to trying it out but I would be interested in the opinions from other Eldar player on this.
@davidfeline585017 күн бұрын
I've been running one in Crusade with Shroud Runners and a Farseer Skyrunner. It's been great. If a target simply has to go, ensuring you get maximum AP is a real boon.

question: how many secondary points is it worth losing the unit for on turn one assuming they can also push three devastating wounds onto a target like you mentioned
@WBConcilio15 күн бұрын
@@jessepunch8945 think of it this way. You can really only afford to throw away one or two secondaries or delay them if you are going to max out your score. To some degree, the answer to this depends on the match up and the other units in your list, but I will always do it for 4 points
@TheNarwhal8518 күн бұрын
Solid one off unit I think the msu 2x/3x units of warp spiders will move down to a one group with the new cost. Still excellent but I think eldar might go for a more aggressive units like the new vypers
