Kudos for being brave enough to make a video like this! I find it a bit sad that there is quite a culture of putting other players down in Pokémon unite when people end up then making similar mistakes themselves moments later. I like the fact that In your vids you highlight your own mistakes too.

Always interesting and educational to see the decision making processes of players better than me. The title was a bit of a head scratcher for me, though. I always thought your material was good enough to stand on its own merits without having to give it click-baitey packaging. You could've called it "Decision making that wins games" and I would've been hooked in. Probably more so if you had, because I'd know what juicy bits I was in for. But then, I'm not a content creator. Maybe that's just what one has to do to get viewers' attention these days. Look forward to seeing more stuff.

Firstly, you can't truly judge how good or bad someone is based on one game only. Having said that and having watched him play for many hours, he is definitely a good, competent player. Imo he is not really 'pro' level, and is certainly not on the level of someone like CrisHeroes. Although there is a fairly vast skill gap amongst the best and worst pros imo, and just because someone is technically a pro, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're like God tier at this game. I would say that 'Comfey diff' is absolutely worth mentioning here. Comfey + any high tier all rounder is for sure a threatening combo to face. Spragels has good macro decision making and overall understanding of the game. However, like most players he can be quite rigid in his approach and what he deems to be the right and wrong play. I think the absolute best players know in general how the game should be played, but they are flexible and fluid enough in their approach that they can deviate from this if the risk/reward of a certain situation deems it a viable play. Imo some of the worst players I've encountered are the ones who have a total one track mind about how a match needs to play out and what everyone should be doing. There can be a lot of nuanced situations in Unite whereby there is no textbook 'right' play. This rigidity in his approach and idea of how to play the game is something I've seen in other streamers, and can on occasion be characterised by them criticising teammates for making plays that they disagree with, sometimes rightly, sometimes wrongly. This almost always leads to a biased view towards that player throughout the rest of the match, with further criticisms being made, even if the play that that teammate makes are perfectly viable. However this judging of a player based of what we deem to be one mistake, and then making our mind up that they're a bad player is something that we've all done at some point. To conclude: he's a good player, he's got to be in the top 90% at least, but those top like 3% are in a different world. I'm sure he'd agree with that himself. I personally don't find him to be super educational to watch, because I'd say I'm on a similar level, he is very entertaining though. Players like Inder or CrisHeroes on the other hand, who I think are significantly better than me at the game, I find myself picking up things from and noticing micro/mechanical plays that I would never think to make.

I’m curious what your opinion on youmous is or however you spell it. Personally I think he’s a better defender then anything else. I think many supports and defenders like myself lack being aggressive on plays as where he doesn’t. I prefer to be safe and know I can make it out vs making those pentas or insane plays. I’m working on it. I’d put spragels in lane with youmus or youmous (again idk how to spell it) And Chris in jungle indie as the best support in lane with whoever else. I’m excited too see what your opinions are of other content creators along with the roles there playing because many of the prominent content creators are good at different roles in comparison to others.

Idk. You can't judge a player of being decent when he is having a good game with a comfey on the most broken mon + that 8 minute birdnest was never cleared. At least 8 people didn't bother going there Edit: not hating, I like his personality and casting but he is a bit clickbaity [who isnt?]
@theendlessphoenix2799
@theendlessphoenix2799 7 ай бұрын
the more "clickbaity" someone is its sort of implied to me atleast that they aren't trying to be extremely thorough but just entertaining, I'm not a huge spragels fan or anything but I enjoy his presentation and I definitely agree from his videos it's hard to see his skill level. If you want you should watch some of his streams and you can judge after that (if and when and if you want to catch them that is)
@Lily-xl4hg
@Lily-xl4hg 7 ай бұрын
fr Something tells me this isn't a good representation of his general gameplay since this is buffed Metagross with a comfey which a lot of us should know is broken and nearly unkillable, he did do good with his micro play this game but that's because he had the safety of playing a broken mon with a comfey. I want to see a review of him using a different mon that isn't overturned.
@marioacg
@marioacg 7 ай бұрын
I agree, his videos are fun, but he isn't a great player and does tiny errors most of the time and blames his team or tries to make a joke instead of recognizing the fault was his for not reading the situation correctly. I think he is decent but not someone I would follow to become better at the game for non casual purposes.

Haven't seen the video yet but Spragels is just a decent player, not someone that you need to carry nor the one that's going to carry you. He's what the average Master rank player should be, he just does his job and could have pretty good or pretty bad matches. I think my skill is similar to his (I believe I'm a bit better). He knows what are bad plays and bad decisions, he can play multiple characters and roles at decent level without making some crazy plays or being mechanically gifted.

I wonder something, tell if this is wrong but playing as a carry I prefer to take the last buff spawning before ray fight at around 2min10/20 instead of something around 2min40/50, so I can benefit of the buffs a longer time during the fight
@SpecsJigglypuff
@SpecsJigglypuff 7 ай бұрын
That would be more optimal though you generally take it everytime you can because unless you’re in a 5 stack, one of your teammates is for sure going to take the buffs The counterplay to this would be to basically stalk the buffs before they spawn to guarantee you get them, but then it risks one of your teammates diving and initiating ‘the big fight’ and you’re out of position.

I respect Spragels, however I do not watch Spragels to get "better" at the Game. I've personally been playing since the game was released. Through my own trials & error, as well as my team, I grew. I watch Spragels & anyone else on the platform for entertainment purposes as well joining discussions in the community. A lot of content creators use builds & plays for literally [CONTENT PURPOSES], not educational purposes. Again, respect to the creators, but every player needs to learn how to actually play the game because they sound very goofy blaming others for their own mistakes.

This aint gonna go over well, but with the Unite community... No matter what you do, its "hey, you're bad at the game" while they say "hey, look at me dominate because I'm better than you". Most of them will also bash you over a mic when in fact, you're the one trying to turn the match around. Funny how people say things from the protection of a screen that they wouldn't dare say to someone in person. Cuz they would get the literal tar beat out of them considering some of the stuff that I've been called lately. Most people don't learn from their mistakes, and eventually it becomes so frequent that they start to believe that they're the best things out there after a few easy matches. Then theres people like me who, if a match is starting out horribly, take time to regroup, level up a bit to gain lost EXP, and go in with a new strategy. Observe and Overcome, my personal motto.

Half of these people are definitely good, but probably over celebrated. Half of redlocke, Yoummus, are some that come to mind. Even these pros cant consistently play a flawless game. Esepcially soloq. Like bro icwatched Kyriaos or whatever do his 3 hour master climb and he lost more than i thought he would. My overall point is quite a few soloq players make near perfect plays. Hell i may die once per game. Im not that great. But i THINK ABOUT MY CHOICES. Half of these players are overrated. Overlord is truly good. This man can fart an idea and blow away his enemies. Its insane. He goes above and beyond his capabilities. Spragels plays conservatively. Yoummus plays erratic. Cris plays with accuracy. Inder plays best decensively/cautiously. Idk man maybe im wrong. But like you see in Apex, alot of these top players play with each other. My old team capt had a 70% wr in 1600+. Dudes far from pro and he'll admit. If i didnt play lane so well could he soloq his way to dubs?? Well he didnt at times. His WR would be more like 60%+. Over hyped. Love your videos though man. Youre intelligent.
