An awesome summary Dr Mori. One question though. Will MDS be recognized in the UK post successful ORE? or Do we have to do MDS all over again to work as endodontist in the UK?

Unfortunately, Indian MDS is not recognised in UK. Other departments like orthodontics can register with the GDC, after clearing the ORE on a special interest. If your employer is accepting, then u can pratice your specality too on a percentage basis. End of story-there is no official way to register your MDS in UK.

Wow, Hileri mam that was awesome quick yet detailed glance of all the options and procedure with the expenses I really got a clear idea after so long.... So that now I could make a decision!! Where in the past I was so puzzled whether there would be any alternate to manage!! as the states are so costlier and in Australia and Singapore arr bit tougher to enter.... And uk has many masters courses where I always had them in one side of my mind and now u helped us.. Thank u so much doc!! For making this a concise one!!!

No, you have to complete your internship. And need to register with your respective state dental council.

Ma'am what is the difference between ORE and LDS

LDS and ORE part-1 almost same but LDS part-2 (pratical exam) is held only once in a year. One more bad thing about LDS examination, selection is on lottery based.

Hello Ma'am, I am trying to pursue Masters in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from UK. Will it be beneficial if I come back to India? As in UK to be an OMFS you need both doctorate and Dental degree. Thanks Ma'am.

First register ur bds degree with the GDC UK. Then u have to find a employer to provide a work visa. No additional courses are not required in order work as a dental hygienist.

Yup...ore 1 nd 2 then u hv 2 work under supervision of a dentist for 1year

After clearing the ORE u can go for a additional special interest registration. If your employer ready to accept your special interest registration. Then u can pratice ur specality.
