Between Perth and Inverness, the road has been dubbed Killer A9, because of accidents and fatalities where dual-carriageway sections merge into single-carriageway - the principal cause being motorists driving at excessive speeds to overtake lines of slower-moving vehicles before the dual carriageway ends. Dangerous overtaking manoeuvres on the long single-carriageway stretches of the road are also common causes of accidents, as are the non-grade separated junctions along the northern sections, where drivers make a right turn across the opposing traffic flow. - from Wikipedia

I really want to watch, sadly I dont like any video like this with music added going all along. Just leave it with street noise or car engine sound. To me it helps feeling the sense of true journey, just like as if I were in the car. to make it worse, the music is repeated again & again, really boring.

I was limited to 56MPH but there are two points it would let you get loose... Off The rest and be thankful to Glasgow.. and on the A9 at Davoit to Inverness... I must go to Inverness again one day....

Reload the internet on second tab; have this on silent but you're favourite journey sounds on the second tab, whatever they may be, and yes, lush, it's utterly how to be. For me it's an LA dj, but it could be anything. Edinburgh, for amatuers, Inverness, fair fucking play. Thurso? I've done it, but how soon is now?

uttter bullshit. the A9 is one of the best roads in the world. i use it often and have never seen a crash in sun rain wind or snow.

@Alex W There's no such thing as a dangerous road, it's morons kerb-crawling that cause accidents as they infuriate people who have places to go or a job to do! You wanna look at the scenery? Fine, pull over, get out and look, don't dither and hold everybody up! That journey takes about 2.5 hours even when the road is busy, yet it took them nearly an hour more!!! (I've even taken into account their detour along the A90!!!)

Some of the dualled sections of the 1970s reconstruction may be thus because they were cheaper to build than a single carriageway due to technical overtaking/stopping sight distance considerations. From memory the former requirement was 450m and the latter 210m. In twisty single carriageway sections the verges can be about 30m wide - expensive, especially if rock excavation is involved.
