United Legends in 5 Minutes or Less...Brian McClair

United legends aren't always flamboyant characters who you pretended to be growing up when you were playing footy with your mates and using ' jumpers for goalposts'. United legends can also be those players who are integral yet unseen, unassuming yet essential, and, as in any team or squad of players, can fulfil pivotal roles that are the difference between silverware and being also rans. Brian McClair is such a player.
Bought for his goalscoring prowess, McClair fulfilled several roles for arguably the most demanding and successful manager of all time, Sir Alex Ferguson, and won 14 pieces of silverware for him over an 11 year period. Whilst he endured some criticism, from time-to-time, during his time at Old Trafford, no fan could doubt his attitude, commitment and single-mindedness to get the job done, a mantra that some other more recent Red Devils incarnations could benefit from....
So get to know him a little bit more, the legend that is Brian McClair.

Choccy was one of a kind. Couldn't help but love his sense of humor, his spirit. Underrated, but essential to United's success in his day.

I get everything but until I started doing the research for this vid, I really didn't know what a wicked sense of humour he had. Very smart man, probably helped him a lot on the pitch.

Sooooo underrated. Remember he got a LOT of stick in the late 80s early 90s but he came through it really well. Fergie loved him but he played on merit, great influence.

Great character, pound for pound, one of our best ever signings from day one. Glad he won a decent amount with us, better players have won less

I remember the Cup run in '90 well, I was in England for that. Loved the English commentary for the goal you show, v Newcastle, although it was yoru voice and nto the goal. Memories. Did his job without ego, and was a great player for the club

Yeah... it's legends in 5 mins or less... it's supposed to be the length of time the video runs for... it's never even close. He was vastly unrated/underappreciated. Proper United servant.
