Take pride in your MOS and NEVER think of yourself as being less than other direct combat MOSs. You play a critical role in the machine and you can't lose sight of that. I've done both infantry and logistics, and the ironic thing is that I did more "high speed" stuff in my support MOS because I went to a variety of units, most notably SOF. You can still get access to Ranger, Air Assault, Airborne, Pathfinder, and other schools that the infantry and other combat jobs get to attend. So, never say "even though I'm support.."

Unpopular opinion but the first 100 yards is WAY better than the oldschool shark attack. I think it really makes you think more while under stress instead of just introducing pressure for pressure's sake. I went through in 2017 while the shark attack was a thing and while it provided shock and awe, I think I and a lot of my battery (Ft. Sill) would have benefited from an exercise like this. Say what you will about BCT changing for the worse, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

@reddevilparatrooper6 ай бұрын
To me as an old soldier it will always be Ft. Benning. I think the culture is way different when I went through Basic, Infantry AIT, and Airborne School there as a very young soldier. I could only imagine what it would be like to be a 17 year old recruit now going through what modern Basic for 22 weeks then to Infantry AIT. Back when I went through it was supposed to be 8 weeks of Basic and 5 weeks of Infantry AIT. That was the standards since the Vietnam Era, this was the mid 1980s. I think today even by today's standards an Infantry Basic recruit will still only get the basics of just being a soldier even with new weapons qualifications standards and newer modern communications, and using modern anti-armor systems like the Javelin. A few years ago I went for my Airborne School reunion , nothing has changed in their training to become Paratroopers but only age cultural differences. Even a few years ago in Texas I was jumping out of a vintage WWII C-47 with a T-10 Parachute for my reunion as an over 50 year old guy nothing has changed when I saw young troopers jumping with square parachutes. The training has improved but it can only be proven when these guys go into actual combat. I did the Panama Invasion of 1989-90 and Iraq from 2006-08. No soldier or leader will be prepared until the first time in combat for what's going to happen. When the shit hit's the fan, all their training will kick in then it's a 50/50 chance in actual combat. The brain starts working and working out the fear over reality of what's happening will move decisions to motion and action. To the new troops out there, the enemy is not stupid!! Their job is to kill you, you just have to survive and think through your motions in combat. These young guys will get the message after very hard training in their units before seeing combat for the first time. I'm not going to judge these new guys because their training is based on the experiences on what I have experienced some years ago as an Infantry squad leader, and Platoon Sergeant. Leaders have to do their jobs, soldiers will learn to become leaders, soldiers have to know 2 levels above their positions. Only the crucible of combat will tell. Very proud to have earned my Blue Cord as an Infantryman!!!
@user-nw5ow5wp9y6 ай бұрын
Thank you for your service! The old generation still has the memories of what's like to fight the communist regime, but today's younger generation is most clueless because they had never lived under the ruling of communism till in recent years. When the woke gang quietly and compassionately attacks Americans using the Diversity, equity, inclusion BS, most good-hearted Americans are forced in silence because if they dare to speak out, they will be labeled as racist, sexist, fascist, or anything you name it. The race/gender based woke ideology (e.g., critical race theory) is derived from Karl Marx's manifesto (focused on social class in the past). Every communist country including Soviet Union, North Korea, China, and so on has a political prosecution office at every level of school, military, and government to ensure their ideology is being enforced and their political dissents are being executed. That's why we see all the DEI offices poop up everywhere nowadays! US military, which has the strongest members of our society, needs to wake up and stand up, so history doesn't get repeated itself!

In case anyone was wondering, they're using blank ammunition for their bounding practice. The yellow blank firing adaptors are not reliable if not attached precisely and if not in near-perfect condition. It unfortunately can create a negative impression for some Soldiers in trusting the weapon system in general, which is very reliable and accurate with live ammunition.

my basic granted, it was last decade, it was more of a crawl walk run. We started with dry firing, then blanks, then we used pellet/paint substance, then buddy team live fire. and lots more live fire excersises. this video doesn't show 1% of what you'd in basic

@@TatorTot787 my biggest recommendation tatortot is holistic training. Mind, body, and soul if you will. If you want to serve and you are serious work out. Research it or get a trainer and start those first steps to becoming faster, stronger, etc. Being a Soldier or any of the services is not completely about how fast or strong you are but it helps you be better at things. Learn and read and succeed. Positive mindset and motivation should be used for a lot of things in life especially your brain. Nobody expects you to be a genius but you can't be a rock either. The military can also just be something you want to do for a time being or a job you want to learn/do and the military can help in that factor too. It will pay for college/technical school as well with service so you can use the military as a steppingstone too. Feel free to shoot me more stuff if you like. Soldiering is not super hard but it is super weird at first and it also doesnt have to be your only option V/R C6

@@AnActualCaptain Thank You! I'll be sure I work on a few things. It has also come to my attention that you can't be accepted if you have mental illness. Can this go as far as just having depression, that you're not accepted, or does it have to be a lot more such as personality disorders? I haven't been diagnosed with anything but I have coping mechanisms that work for me whenever I feel sad or down, such as working out, drawing and a few others. What I'm trying to ask is if you have something mentally wrong, how bad does it have to be before you cant join?
