INEOS are conducting their final review of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United and a decision is expected to be made this week.
Talks have now been held with McKenna, Pochettino and Frank in order to be able to review everything and now after the FA Cup final, nothing else can change. It's decision time.

I've never been EtH out and want to see him under a proper structure with a proven DoF above him, but my main criticism of him this season is that he should have adapted to the players he had available, rather than continue playing open, high pressing football which was a disaster. The success we had this season came from EtH adapting and playing more compact, counter attacking style of play. I think with the right DoF at the club, EtH can be the right manager. Sacking him wouldn't feel right.

I understand this criticism but I will say this. Great managers are all notoriously stubborn. If he was just changing his system every week the players will lose confidence in him. Sir Alex got his 99 champions league final line up horribly wrong, he didn’t change it till the 90th minute of the game and we won the game. Also it’s not like we didn’t adapt. Ten hag has played this system, away at anfield and at Etihad, most fans didn’t see that the blue print was being birthed from there. I think he’s figuring out how to manage in the epl in front of our eyes. Couple that with 70+ separate cases of injuries and it will be asinine to expect progress in these circumstances. Imo trophies should buy a manager time. At least one more season

It takes at least five seasons for a big club to rebuild its squad. It cannot be done in two summer windows. Utd require a top to bottom rebuild. Getting rid of a manager after two seasons is not going to complete such a rebuild. It also requires that the next manager brought in is of the same philosophy of football.

The optimist in me dies when I look at INEOS ownership of OGC Nice. The highest they finished was 5th with 6 managers in 5 seasons. It does not bring any confidence. It is better SJR keeps his mouth shut, he criticised players like Fred, and talk about core British group who by the way are the reason for player power. Better give ETH a 2 year contract extension and advise Dan Ashworth, Sam Williams and Jason Wilcox to work with ETH to build a squad. SJR will be a fool to think ManU win the title next year, it takes 4 to 5 transfer windows to build a squad and continuity is important.

The final was much better. However, I don´t think it would work any other time against city. They absolutely dominated us in that game. We got insanely lucky with that first goal. And for why we haven´t made this change earlier, that is I believe simply because ETH doesn´t want to play this way. He has been very clear about the style we have seen is his way.

Lets be real, with that midfield and team setup, you could've had Donald Duck and Fred the Red in the CB positions. As good as the Varane and Martinez are, its crazy how when this team have weaker CBs in the team previously, you cant setup with that protection at earlier points in the season. Very weird.

We had Amrabat available nearly all season to play 2 CDM and one 6 how can we now praise ETH for making the right choices for once. I fully respect the way we made adjustments to frustrate city its just a CL and PL to late. Yes we had problems in defence so surely any manager would see that and automatically switch to 2 6's I just don't understand the logic behind it. Making the same mistakes all season and expecting a different result

ETH style of football does not employ a defensive half. It uses two central midfield players that both add cover,passing and attack.

Is McKenna better than Ten Hag? Is Thomas Frank better than Ten Hag? Is Pochettino better than Ten Hag? Does Tuchel have a track record of burning bridges after a few years at a club? These are all questions that need some honest consideration. What Man Utd needs is a long term manager, not in and out revolving door.

INEOS, on the football side, have really done nothing yet. Berrada is not here. The Ashworth situation is a clusterfuck. If the rumours are true about the email, not only are INEOS, Berrada and Ashworth next to professionally incompetent and massively lacking in judgement, there is a chance this could also be problematic releasing Berrada from City because he was engaged in United business in February. The only thing they have done is throw Ten Hag under the bus by not shielding him from the media, and appointing Wilcox with about a 45 days to the transfer window.

Ten Hag does not play with a Defensive half. He uses 2/3 central midfield players. Ten Hag style is an attacking passing style and everybody knew that when he joined and they also knew it was going to take 4 to 5 seasons to build a squad and then a team.

My understanding was the review was already done prior to the FA final. So what is Ornstein on about? Anyway Most fans are in favour of ten Hag staying. I hope INEOS takes that into consideration. And any new manager coming in has to be an upgrade on ten Hag. Im not impressed with any of the candidates really. McKenna? Come on, you’ve not serious.

There is absolutely no comparison between the Glazers and INEOS. They haven't even been in charge for one season in charge. They're currently trying to rebuild the administration part, they haven't even been in charge of a full summer transfer season and people are writing them off. Why, because the club and the manager is under review based on results, specifically directed at his performance in the league, which is justified. This is a club but also a business, results matter, performance reviews will happen. This is not Fergie, this is Ten Hag. We are getting a full sporting structure. Lets first see how they build the club before we start judging. I'm fully happy to see INEOS controlling our football, than the Glazers.

Tell me which top world class manager wants to become coach of Man United if he has little or no say in the purchasing and sales policy of the players? The manager works with the players every day, not the staff! He must be abke to believe 110 percent in their gualities to get the most out of those players. And let them work together optimally as a (top) team. Ineos: start working with Ten Hag!! And what a shame that you did not say earlier when a decision about the future of him would be made.

The managers who won trophies for other clubs won trophies for us (Van Gaal, Mourinho and Erik) and the managers who won nothing for other clubs won nothing for us (Moyes and Ole.) If Erik is going we need a manager who knows how to won trophies.

@@Moonlightgraeme I do not buy into the whole structure thing. As long as the board do not get in the way and the managers get enough time. Problem is the last 4 managers did not have time.

@@Moonlightgraeme I do not think the structure is that bad. They have signed players. The issue is the club has been too reactive to fan outrage and pressure. Van Gaal never should have been forced out of the job so quickly and same with Mourinho. They were both signing players and with enough time would have built a squad.

@@richardjones8699 He has not spent that. It is the club that does that. He as manager requests players they then go and get them. Remember he inherited a squad that had the likes of Phil jones who was finished as a player.

Pochettino is not coming Ineos want more control Tuchel and Poch are both wanting control over transfers as Teh Hag has now. The Glazer's may have a say but no vote.

No we cant build off the FA cup game. Amrabat looking good isnt the system either, its having a run of games. Minutes are important for momentum and match fitness. Sitting in a mid/low block and countering works on city because they will always have more of the ball, against teams lower on the table that doesnt work as they will sit back and we will need to unlock defenses. We still have ALOT of players not suitable for that. Ineos have their work cut out for them
