Love it. This release marks the first time my son can confirm what he is working on. He is building the curse of the werewolf coaster. I can't wait to have him give us a tour of the park. He will be an amazing guide.

This is so genius -They made a zone thats SPECIFICALLY best done at night, letting them naturally control the rotation of crowds throughout the park every day. -They're timeless classics, meaning they won't become stale in a few years like Disneyworld and their IPs -They made a zone that will have the greatest Halloween Holiday of any park in the world EVERY year

I showed my mom this… she is ECSTATIC. She is the BIGGEST FAN of the universal monsters. She raised me watching ALL the old monster flicks. Universal I think this is the most unique world you’ve created, and most long awaited.

I love the boldness of bringing back these old franchises, putting it into something new and saying "we're going to make this cool again." It exudes confidence that makes me even more excited for the park.

This land is going to be amazing at night. I absolutely love the highlight of classic films.

wait the idea of a vampire ‘stake’house where the vampires feed you and then visit your table like they’re seeing how their next meal is fattening up is genius. It’s their version of a pig farm and I find that so creative and genius!!

If Disney made this: "Help Victoria Frankenstein gather up her monster pals to form a special band for the party!" Seriously though I'm glad Universal aren't shying away from darkness and mature themes in their attractions.

Leave it to Universal Creative to find the solution to a year-round horror-themed theme park land. Give us the monsters, but make it inspiring and uplifting. Can’t wait to experience this next year!

Unbelievable. This is EXACTLY what fans want. The disparity between Universal and Disney -- in Universal's favor -- is astonishing. Their work is bold, overflowing with creativity and energy while Disney's recent projects are lifeless and boring. I'm not saying that Disney has lost its mojo, rather I think the Disney parks have always had a low-energy, low-ambition feel, but the quality of service and presentation made it top-of-class. But as Universal has caught up in execution, and combined it with a more energetic "cool" point of view (and, importantly, is not afraid of thrilling its guests), it is on the cusp (when Epic Universe opens) in surpassing Disney in parks entertainment. If what Disney announces at D23 for California and Florida are re-treads of the lands and attractions from the overseas parks, watch for a collective yawn -- and champagne toasts at Universal as they will know they have won.

The idea of getting monster makeup done and roaming the land opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. Like imagine the Star Wars hotel done correctly where guests dress like characters and perform excursions around the park. It would add immersion to the land and bring an amazing premium experience. I can’t wait until someone pulls that off. I’d pay to play out a Harry Pottery fantasy lol

Ya’ll have outdone yourselves!! I was sad when the Monsters were replaced by Minions but boy did you have a plan for them. This is truly epic and now new generations like you said will fall in love with these classics all over again. This is how you breathe new life into old IPs. You not only have given them a new home but you honor the legacies of these great characters preserving them for many generations to come. Epic for sure.

Universal, you made me actually care about a section of the park I thought, ‘yeah, well that’s neat, other people might like that but it’s not for me’ initially, now I’m like ‘hell yeah! Let’s see these monsters roaming around, let’s ride these rides’ and heck now I kinda wanna go and watch the classic monster films I have not seen. Bravo!

THIS is how you do a theme park land. General theme that infuses IP with original storytelling. Take note Disney. It's what Walt wanted, and Universal is doing it.

I actually kinda’ need a break from Disney for a while, but I LOVE the Classic Universal Monsters, and the Dark Universe theme park looks very promising to me. Plus, I’ve been waiting patiently to see a video about the Dark Universe for a while now, but I’m definitely not at all disappointed with this video.

I remember hearing a while back that Disney had a theme park concept called "Dark Kingdom" that was supposed to be centered on the Disney Villains, but scrapped it because they thought it'd be too scary. I wonder if Universal heard about that concept and said "Good idea! Mind if we use it instead?" Either way, I'm excited for this!

If Horror Nights ever decides to make the jump from Studios over to Epic, just imagine what they could do with this.

I’m not into horror or haunted attractions but as a movie history buff I’m so excited to see these movies and characters get this level of representation in a Universal theme park

I had no expectations of Dark Universe before but now I’m blown away! The rides are creative, the buildings detailed, and it’s going to be so cool to get monster makeup done and then pretend to be a monster (contrast Disney making you pay $200 for a lightsaber only to prevent you using it in the park!) Can’t wait to visit this land.

I have been waiting for this to go public so I can talk about it with my community! Working on this area of the park has been an amazing experience and I'm so proud at the quality we are putting into the land itself, let alone the rides! My personal fave will be the E Ticket, gonna be a blast to see in action.

My lifelong dream has been to be an Imagineer. Watching everything coming to Epic Universe, listening to how these creators are talking about legacy and care and storytelling and honoring the characters there before, breaking boundaries, thinking different, push what we expect from a theme park, immersive worlds.... I don't know if I've ever been more excited for a theme park. And the new dream is clear. I need to work for Universal with their team building parks. Epic in all the right ways. I can't wait for these doors to open.

Tron: Announced July 2017, opened spring 2023. Nearly 6 years. Universal Epic Universe: Announced summer 2019, opening latest summer 2025. 6 years. It will take Disney nearly the same amount of time to build one single coaster (an exact copy of Shanghai’s) as it will take Universal to announce, build (with a full year of zero construction march 20-21), and finish the best theme park in the world.
