Agreed and I cannot wait for the sequel. Yes, the film is not perfect (e.g., it did not have a kissing scene) but it was very good. Unfortunately, the sequel comes out in early 2025 and that is assuming it does not get delayed the writers and actors strike. Heck, it is not even started filming which I think will happen in November or December of 2023 and that is assuming it does not get delayed.

What I found interesting at that part was the fact that Gemma was not doing something important. To me she looked like she was going to sit and relax and go on line. She didn't give off the energy that she was going to do something important or work related. It was her leisure time and she was choosing to spend her leisure time on the laptop instead of being with Cady. When she had the free time. So hearing "Do the things that really matter" and then watching what Gemma was really doing when those words were being said were an excellent way of letting us know that she was so confident in M3gan's abilities, that she felt she didn't "need" to spend time with Cady.

The irony is once M3GAN goes nuts she starts killing very casually.

@@MKF30 She took the wrong lessons from human history and current events, but I wonder if, with "parental" guidance and ethical role models, she would have been capable of learning morality, or if it would just not make sense to her. The question makes me think of the Onion Field M**der trial in real life. @@waterbeauty85 Yeah it's like she only saw the bad of human kind and ignored the good, especially when she brings that up against Gemma in the end. Yeah, who knows. I think in M3GAN's case once she became sentient she just like a human became her own personality which was perhaps not enjoying killing but definitely had a lack of empathy which is also ironic and contradictory of her agenda which was to protect Cady at any cost, but we got that answer at the end "ok M3GAN what if Cady disagrees with you then what?" So that would force M3GAN to pick between what Cady wants such as her aunt to live vs what M3GAN thinks is best, which is where the problem lies.

Kids always play with their siblings more than their parents--Cady didn't have any siblings to play with. If anything she should have been enrolled in something like gymnastics or martial arts or a sport like soccer or basketball and played with friends.

I understand where you are coming from but a would rather not see it as farming out parental duty. I am a preschool teacher. The parents need to work and we can teach and care for the kids while their families cannot.

@@Lucailey I admire what you do sincerely. But no matter how hard you try, you won't be able to care for these children the way their parent would. You are only one tending to many. Our society values work over children now and it creates huge issues down the road. Self value is something parents build in their children early. From the youngest of ages we teach them that work is more valuable than they are. We teach them that money and things are what matter and then we wonder why so many are obsessed with wealth. You do a hard job friend, I know that. But I wish you had not to do it at all. Still I am glad you are there. To any two parent families left in the world, please try and have one stay home or work part time. Kids need a parent to come home to. I can't tell you the times my brother and I nearly burned ourselves and our house because mom was not home until 6. I can't tell you how many times my brother beat me up- because he could. It was truly a child abuse situation. And today's world with the internet contains threats beyond understanding. I have a young friend that learned cutting from the internet... I have another that got involved in prostitution to buy drugs to kill the pain in hs life... Both discovered these ills through the internet, unsupervised because both parents came home at 6... Having raised four children, one of us was always home. Or one worked with a daycare onsite and visited the kids at lunch, etc. The kids always knew mom was close by. As the second half of my life progresses, I can tell you no amount of work or money was better than raising four kids that make society better. In some ways, I guess it was a therapy for growing up under the tyranny of my brother and absence of my parents. No car, boat, house or thing was worth sacrificing. Kids don't remember money, except that you used it to try to fill the hole left by you not being there... Thank you for what you do- your work is greatly appreciated.

It's not. The unrated title comes from the death scenes. There's more blood and violence in the new cut.

I watched the unrated version, there very little difference from the theatrical version. There little bit more blood and more swearing but it still like 90% the same.

I don't think in the context of the movie, it's possible for her to be programmed for love. The idea is that M3GAN was being rushed out to some degree, so she couldn't be built as well as the creator might like. Also, the main protocol of M3GAN is to be not only being her companion, but also her protector. Also, if you look at it through real life, the product is only as good as the creator, and this movie rather over-emphasizes that the creator, Jenna, knows basically nothing about love. She's sort of a Mr. Spock without as much time. There are some scenes in the movie, where you see how kind of crass Jenna is towards other human beings, and while such things would be anomalies for most real people, in the movie they don't have a lot of time to spend with Jenna, so they make her basically one-dimensionally that way IMO. In effect, the fact M3GAN has any good humanity in her, is more with just making a more interesting movie, than it having to do with her creator at all. I think the movie also tries to get across the idea that M3GAN can learn on her own, apart from her creator, so what warmth she will show, is probably more attributed to that.

Should've applied the The Laws Of Robotics. Gemma should've at LEAST been familiar with them. But that "I,Robot" scene near the end where Spooner goes to the cargo container yard makes me sad.
