Nice video. A lot has changed it appears. I graduated 2000. Sirmons Hall, 1st Battalion, Charlie. We had small, 2 person rooms going down the length of and on each side of the hallway. Bunkbeds, green GI wool blankets covered our mattresses that were barely ever disturbed except for white collar inspection. We all used sleeping bags essentially every night on top of the wool GI blankets. One large desk in the room or maybe it was two pushed together. One person sat on one side, one on the other. One large bathroom near the center of the Charlie hallway, half the bathroom was about 6 showers, just outside the shower area was a bench area with hooks to hang stuff. If someone was going to flush the toilet when someone was showering, they had been previously instructed to yell out the word “SHOWERS!!!” before flushing as it would turn the shower water scalding hot upon doing so. The walls of Charlie Company hallway would drip during group PT on the hall. Room doors were never locked, don’t think they had locks. Shortly after the start of the year, if you had been deemed hard or worthy, you could expect the red glow of chem lights to pierce the darkness of your room at night sometime late after midnight with a large contingent of highly motivated serious individuals staring you in the face as you awoke and they had the intent of conveying a very serious message after you and your roommate had wearily dismounted the rack, and locked your bodies at the position of attention. That’s another story. I’m sure those days are long in the past.

Could you do a head start video? What I mean is things they want you to memorize or learn your first semester, so that way I can prepare over the summer and be a step ahead? See you in August!

Hey! I’m going to be an incoming cadet in 3 days and was just wondering if you had any pro tips to survive frog week? I’ve heard it can be very rough and exhausting to go through but once it’s done it’s something you’ll never forget!

Quick question. I’m guard and going to be attending ung next year in rotc. On my current ocp’s I have the name tapes sewn on and my rank Velcro. Its a lot easier to wash that way. Would sewn on tapes not be acceptable as sterile?

if you don't have a roommate can you use their side for storage? it looks like you have almost no clothes there! I'm so scared of packing my entire closet. does only the top drawer in the dresser get inspected?

Hi Jasmine, It's a challenge finding adequate storage bins which do not exceed at least one of the maximum limits of 18L x 12W x 12H . Do you remember the measurements of your storage bins?

Jasmine, are their regulations for decorating your room or bathroom for the cadets. My son will be attending next year.

Hey, so I am going to be a Cadet at UNG in the fall semester and i have a question about rules on computers... I have a desktop computer that is kinda fancy and has a lot of glowing lights on it, The monitor is 24 inches. I could always turn off all the lights but I still am curious if it would be acceptable in a room. Do you think it would be ok or a no go.
