Excellent video. I love when you break down the cost of convenience. Vs from scratch. I really wish more people would realize that a bit of prep can save thousands per year.

It’s a huge mindset shift, and it took me almost a decade of marriage to get here. I think prices will force this issue sooner than later for many. I just hope that I’m planting seeds today that will pay off for others down the road. Thanks for watching! 💕

Kind of hard to meal prep if you work 60+ hours a week.

I'm slowly adding in bulk buying meat from local, pasturing farmers. It's been a game changer in how much quality meat I can get.

I agree completely! The prices at the store are through the roof, and the quality is definitely not the same.

It's so devastating to learn that food producers and grocery stores are making record profits right now! We are struggling. With the money we have coming in, exactly what was the "right income" a couple years ago, 3 to 6% raise, etc, we should be reasonable comfortable. We are not. People are leaving our near Florida coast area in droves. We have had our place listed for sale for a year. I'm sure more people than us appreciate these videos. Thank you.

I am so sorry that you’re struggling. It’s heartbreaking what’s going on right now. I recently was out alone and went through a drive through and couldn’t believe the cost of convenience these days. Hopefully things will look up for you soon. Praying you can get out of your home and find a place where you’re more comfortable. 💕

We make our own sausage, and we bulk buy pork butt. I normally get it a case or two at a time at Sam's club. We just watch to see when it goes on sale and then have a sausage making day and smoke pork butts for pulled pork freezer meals. We like how homemade is healthier and you can make it lower in fat. It stores nicely in the freezer wrapped in butcher paper.

That’s an awesome idea! I have eyes for a sausage stuffer, so we might try this soon. That said, we’re advocates of extra fat, and try to avoid lower fat items for health reasons. The beauty of homemade is that we all get to tailor it to our own needs. Thanks for sharing, and hope to see you back soon!

If you don’t have the freezer space for minced meat or pieces of other meat like chicken pork ect. You could can them so you wouldn’t have to have a huge freezer

Yes! I have canned ground beef and sausage before, as well as many other meats. Shelf stable meats are a fabulous idea, but If someone is really stocking up with 1/2 beef, some freezer space would be necessary.

We’re currently working on bulk buying and it can feel overwhelming trying to figure out a balance of how much we’re using of each thing each month and then trying to buy more than me use (so it accumulates a reserve of that product) but not buying so much that we’ll never use it lol but these tips were super practical ! Love how you reorganized your pantry 😍

The thing that’s helpful is realizing that it’s hard to get too much of the things that last a really long time. 25 lbs of salt was a huge savings over smaller quantities, for example, and no expiration. There’s definitely a learning curve. Just keep moving forward! Thanks for watching!

I believe in stocking up. I am on food stamps and was working and I was able to get a little at a time. Also when I lost my job, a food pantry helped with alot of can goods. Even when I got my tax refund I would buy a few extra stuff. Now I have a little bit of a stock pile.

So many great tips! We recently moved into a slightly larger living space and now have a 2 car garage, and with gift cards I’ve gotten and saved, I’m finally able to get a deep freezer for the garage! We made do with just the freezer over the fridge for many years, but this is going to be a game changer for bulk buying (and not just meat/cheese). I would also add that for smaller families (we’re a family of 4), sometimes club memberships aren’t the best investment depending on cost break down vs. membership fees and travel (we moved and our closest club warehouses are 30+ minutes away depending on traffic. Which isn’t bad, but they are not in areas we frequent and so are special trips.). I’m starting to find that for a lot of products I used to buy at the club warehouse, I’m getting same or sometimes better prices (in sizes we use) at my local Wal Mart. But YMMV depending on region as well…

We are 30 miles from Sam’s And Costco also. While many things ship for free, others must be picked up. I agree about balancing the cost of the membership. That’s one of the reasons that I love Azure Standard, as there is no fee. Congrats on the new freezer!! It’s a huge blessing to be able to put up extra food. Thank you for watching, and I hope to see you back soon!

Barilla sauce jars are great for canning. Been using them for years. If you're uneasy about pressure canning with them, use them for dry canning.

I've been binge watching videos about food storage and food rotation also restocking trying to learn so I don't waste food. Many in their videos say they will use certain ingredients in "no time" or "quickly". What does "in no time" mean in your home? Does that mean a day or a week?

Depends on what you’re talking about, but typically a 5 gallon bucket of flour will last me 3 months, depending on baking needs. 1/2 gallon of chocolate chips lasts about a month. 😆 Anything you’re questioning specifically?

We have Amish and Mennonite in our area and they have bulk food stores. I find it to be much cheaper than Azure. Also if they don’t have something in bulk, say like pinto beans, I can ask them to order it for me and they will.
