Sooo I've been watching your channel for 6+ months... Bought myself a copy of 'All the graduate maths you missed' and some other books in logic, algebra, trig etc Have been working through them/ skim reading them for some time to see how much I still enjoy it... Ended up signing up for a bachelor in maths at the age of 27 😂 Starting in October, on the top of my full-time job. Wish me luck 🤞! Your motivational vids are hugely beneficial for me, sending lots of love from Poland

Good luck! I’m going to school for engineering and Math Sorcerer really helped me with math! I hardly ever watch his videos where he does math, more just inspiration and tips. Then I read the book, watch KZfaq videos on whatever topic we’re learning and do the homework. One big tip from him that’s helped me is “embrace the challenge”. Whenever I run into something that I just don’t understand or I’m having a hard time grasping, I remember that and it puts a smile on my face and I get through it. Most recently, we just covered power series, sequences and Taylor & MacLaurin series. I was struggling to figure out the Taylor’s inequality homework and just wasn’t getting it. On Saturday I sat down and worked on it, read online notes, and the book and finally it clicked. I spent probably 2+ hours reading and searching through notes and once I understood it, I got the actual homework done in like half an hour. Now I can confidently do Taylor’s inequality problems. Turns out the Professor said they won’t be on the final.

im pretty convinced that almost everybody is going to have major regrets when they're dying if they have that period of time , everybody couldve did more , everybody can do more, we waste so much and nobody wants to think about it until its too late ive seen it over and over with very old people people becoming older and how younger people 30-50 just dont feel it yet, so many people have to lie about happiness but will never even try to make changes , theres something about when its too late that makes you realize , the trick is to just do the small things, set rules for cleanliness organization , workout or run everyday even if its light just take that time slot to do it , have a consistent breakfast of good healthy protein like eggs or whatever works, try to get your morning to be the exact same thing every day , set something small to do after you do something you have to do to get back in your routine mindset , the routine mindset is so powerful and you can utilize very small 5-10 minute objectives and basic rules to follow and have an action prepared for that rule so you dont sit around and break it

I always do a 5min deep breathout and in whenever i feel like i am broken or disturbed and .I always do 6 regular things in the morning and that is definitely physical which includes the making of my bed to just cleaning my own room or do some exercises but for a short time and then i make some of my goals for the day and start working upon and i dont make my hour very productive cause i gradually increase the effectiveness over time . And thats it and if u read this just start following it may help
@Bubs.
@Bubs. Жыл бұрын
I don’t do the breathing thing, but I do make my bed, set daily goals and try to get consistent exercise. Although I usually exercise after work. It’s a big stress reliever. I always workout the day before a test, I’m not sure if it’s proven to make you do better but I feel it helps me prepare mentally and shake out any mental blocks/stresses. I think I’ll try the breathing thing though!

Hello. At the end of this excellent and interactive video, there is the question: "Do you have advice for people who are trying to learn?" I can tell about how I learn, and maybe that would be the advice in addition to the important advice that the video is giving us. First, let me say I am 51 and still learning math, physics, philosophy, and more. For now, I am learning Differential Geometry and relearning General Relativity. Of course, as said in the video, consistency is very important when we learn a subject; we should not take too long breaks. I learn almost every day. I take a break of a few days after I have finished reading a book; and I take a break of 5-10 minutes per half an hour of learning, and I stand up and walk around the room or look through the window. And we should finish learning in the evening; usually, I do this at 9:00 pm. These rules help me not to overexert myself in learning. If we overexert ourselves, we will have to take a longer break, and thereby we will waste time. I have also noticed that the relaxation of the facial muscles helps me to learn easily. If we tense the facial muscles while reading, we will perceive any text as difficult; so, we will subconsciously create a psychological obstacle for ourselves by doing this. In addition, the relaxation of facial muscles helps me to be calm when I read a really difficult text, and I understand the text with less effort.

Discipline is a double edge sword that must be used carefully. In any practice, quality of work far out weighs quantity of work. This means, practicing correctly, but also practicing when the body is best suited to practice. If you are using discipline to grind through biological deficiencies, you are much better off addressing those deficiencies before continuing. This is all part of perfect practice produces perfect results.

Hey big thanks for this video ! I'm a mechanical engineering student and in order to get myself to work in those days when I don't have any motivation, I just write down how many hours a day I have been working. So for those days when I'm not motivated, I know that at the end of the day, I will write 6 hours for instance instead of 10. And I will read that yesterday I had been working for 10 hours, which is more than 6 obviously. I even calculate the average hours of work done per week. So a day with poor work because of feeling unmotivated will result on a decrease of the average amount of hours of that week.

As an upper year undergrad who also puts huge emphasis on discipline (both in school and personal life), you have been such a role model for me. If I may ask, what is your primary field of interest? I am looking at grad school applications within the next year or so and I am having trouble narrowing down what I want to focus on. Thanks Math Sorcerer!

I believe consistency is the key upto some extent but at after you establish yourself, you absolutely need someone to guide you, motivate you who is your actual strength. And that will unlock your your true potential. It could be your close friends or your parents. But a life partner who is your bettet half is not only your best friend but your mentor, your psychologist, your real strength.

As a under middleclass, Middle-Eastern familiy's child I never have real education in school and never met with a mentor who is gonna let teach me. I studied with junkies and shits in high school and mid school. My teacher's were real dumbasses and they also didnt "really" know the topic that is teaching. Then i realized this shit never gonna have me a nice life and i would never been in nice university. Because of that i quit the high school at third year and started to study myself. But there was a problem for me: I didn't know how to study. i couldn't sit on the desk more than even 20 minutes. I felt like shit, then i start to read a books named: "Atomic Habits" and "Deep Work". These books are changed my life. They learned me to how to properly live. Then i realized if i study day by day, If i force myself to sit that desk for more time I would have to be succesfull. I started to embrace it to myself everyday. After a year of studying I couldn't get in university that i wanted. I was disappointed but didn't quit to study. I continued on study at 01.09.2022 till 20.06.2023 everyday little by little. Now I'm in METU physics. I know some people would say "Hahaha all this studying proccess is for it?". But yes, I climbed to "my" summit. Just study or work, people! Trust the proccess. If i made mistakes on my comment please let me know. English is not my main language.

This channel is without doubt the best channel I ever could have stumbled on when it comes to practical advise on reaching my goals. One thing we have to acknowledge is that any goal is easier to achieve when you have another person with the same goal striving with you, or when you feel that others support you in your attempt to achieve a goal. That's great, if you have it, and i'm sure studies would prove that those people probably have a higher percent of ones that accomplish their goals. But what about those that don't have those things? The thing I've discovered is that you have to learn to motivate yourself, because sometimes you are the only thing you've got. You have to be your own cheering section. Of course that's a lot easier if the goals you want are really for you, and something you personally what and not some means to an theoretical end.
