Nice video and very well put together, you say that you showed the three ways to change the speed, there is also another way to change the clip speed on the time line. ( 13.29) in your video, you mention the little arrows, if you put your cursor on the top part of the clip you can drag it either way to slow down or speed up the clip. It will also show the percentage of the clip speed too Great video tho as i said and very clear, subbed and hope to se your channel grow

Hey Chris great video, simple explanation. Could you make a video for how to colour grade non log footage in Davinci also applying luts to the 8 bit non log footage, Thank you so much
@christianeggbauer
@christianeggbauer 9 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for your request 👍 I think I can tell you something before I create such a video. Color grading on already recorded rec.709 footage can be done in the color menu item and it is just slight adaptions. I prefer configuring my camera that way (and lighting) that I don‘t need to do it, because it is really time consuming. The only thing what I like is shooting in log2 for 8bit or log3 for 10bit an use i.e. the phantom luts, because they look awesome out of the box. Applying luts to the 8 bit non log footage doesn‘t work most of the time, because they are primarily made for log footage

Hi, thank so so much; glad it helped; due to the files, you can simply use some from your phone, just be sure you record in the correct Framerate 60fps or 120fps in order to slow them down in Davinci 🤩
@MarkusMischek

I think there are some mistakes in this tutorial. The first one is that you don’t have to cut the clips to add slow motion to one part. Instead you can use the retime controls and add speed points. The second mistake is that it’s not true that you can’t add 25% slow motion to a 50fps clip. In general it’s not recommended but if you use Davinci Resonve then it’s not a problem. Because this software has some very. Intelligent retime settings that can interpolate missing frames so you can achieve a buttery smooth slow motion even if you recorded only 50fps and slow it down to 25%. But of course it has its limits. So slowing down 25fps to 25% speed will probably be visible.
@christianeggbauer
@christianeggbauer 7 ай бұрын
Hi thank you for your feedback, I am aware that you can do it that way as well as you describe. This is just the easiest way for beginners to do it. I will release another video about retime control and speedpoints as well but I will show it with speedramps later this year. Secondly yes there is the possibility to slow footage down even though it has only 25fps / 24fps with davinci creating more frames based on the existing one, but when there are a lot of movements it works not properly and I would do it only in exceptional cases; but I‘ve also planned to create a short video about that, no worries. So this are not really mistakes, I left them out on purpose, but thank you for mentioning it. All the best 👍
@bigb2602

@christianeggbauer
@christianeggbauer 9 ай бұрын

I will watch the whole video, But I am going to give Davinci a try again for like the 10th time bc I edit usually in FCPX and always forget how to get Automatically Conform. my clips. I shoot 99% of the time in 60p 4K and in FCPX I just hit Command + Z to automatically slow my clips down to the proper %. I keep forgetting how to do this in Davinci, is there any way of making a short cut like I do in FCPX? Or do we have to right click every time to conform the clip to 40%? Which is way slower by the way. I always work on a 23.98 time line and just automatically conform my clips when on the timeline with that command... Thanks for any information...
@christianeggbauer
@christianeggbauer 9 ай бұрын
Hi, frankly I don’t record that often in 60fps resp. 50fps, maybe on my action cam. Anyways, I don‘t know any shortcut, but it should work when you select all of the clips in the media pool and change it once for all 🤷‍♂️

Dude, piece of advice from someone who’s been producing content for youtube for a few years now. Dive straight into the content. Do not stray into thanking a couple likes nor the support from your audience. If you must, leave if for the end after you have already shown it was worth the while of the audience
@christianeggbauer
@christianeggbauer 9 ай бұрын
Again: thank you for your input, strangely enough the video performs better than the others and I got a lot of positive feedback, I think it is fair enough also to thank the audience who watch the video, this is not a given and I am thankful for that and makes me happy, don‘t think that is wrong. However, I also added chapters so you can also skip it or stop watching, it is up to you 😃

Also 24fps fürs Kino und 25fps fürs Fernsehen.
@christianeggbauer
@christianeggbauer 9 ай бұрын
@Elektronik-1
@Elektronik-1 9 ай бұрын
@@christianeggbauer Deine Videos ruckeln schon.
