Very cool. Another use I've found for Bome is to translate outgoing notes to the proper input for my FCB1010's display. Instead of a click-track I have notes set to change the numbers, so I have a silent 1-2-3-4 count displayed at my feet.

I was looking for info on the bome to use it's ethernet midi to send signals to my mixer .. what cooool ideas you have to really get some use out of it

Very good and Very interesting, thank You ! The program seems very flexible ... Do you think it could be used in order to change the message sent by an "absolute" control (like a not-infinite knob) and change that message from absolute to relative ? It would be great because i'd like to use only relative controls with Ableton Live ...

Hi - theoretically this sounds very possible. BOME can take the value when you start moving the controller, and hold it as a variable. Then you can use this to increment up or down like a relative controller. If your knob has a hard stop at the top and the bottom, then this might sometimes be a bit annoying, but I think it should work. The might need one good coding skills! The BOME forum is really excellent, and may have scripts like this that helpful people have shared. Good luck!

On an iPad I want the Rodecaster duo midi enabled smart pads to trigger the 1,2,3 or 4 keys to change camera scenes in Switcher Studio. I can use Bluetooth keyboard but I have a large keyboard on my desk and only using the number keys.

If you can get the MIDI information into your PC or MAC, then BOME will really work to translate that into the trigger numbers you’ve stated. I would recommend perhaps using ALT-SHIFT-1 so that you don’t accidentally trigger other programmes or apps. Your setup sounds really interesting

There are some 3rd party add ons - I’ve never been able to make them work for me on a Mac I’m afraid!

Hi - I don’t think so I’m afraid, I think it is just Mac or Windows I’m afraid. Have you got a live looping setup on your phone? That would be very impressive!

I recall them announcing an iOS version a few years ago. But I just checked the web site and couldn't find any mention of it.

hi, i have bome MTP, im using it with ventura, was wondering if you could share your applescript, that send midi to another program albeit focussed app... the video does have the apple script but some of the script is blocked out by the positioning of the onscreen video. could you share the text of the applescript as text here... thanks

Apologies for the delay. To tell the system to 'focus' on OBS, so that I can use hotkeys, I do the following: tell application "System Events" tell process "OBS" set frontmost to true end tell end tell This tells my Mac to make OBS the focus app, then to perform a keystroke (which is control, option 1), I do the following: tell application "System Events" keycode 18 using {control down, option down} end tell Hope this helps

hello friend.. i am having hard time to find info on how to create a midi track that controls the Arm function of other tracks in Ableton, so i can set 1 midi track to Arm tracks while recording an hands free session, can you please help me with it?

Hey - the main problem with the Arm button is that it acts differently to other buttons. One press turns it on, one press turns it off. If you MIDI map the arm button, and then play the MIDI notes on a MIDI track, you can't tell it to be "on", or "off", you tell it to "change" - so if it is on, you turn it off, and vice versa. Really annoying. In the past, I have got around this in the following way: Set up a dummy track, and MIDI map the arm button to a note. This acts as your 'reset'. Whenever you want to arm a particular channel, firstly arm this dummy track (which means the target track is now unarmed) then use the MIDI mapped note for the target channel. This at least means you can control when you arm a track. My setup doesn't require arming - I have 2 tracks per instrument. One is the input track - which takes the signal of the guitar or mic, and adds all the effects. I have a second audio track with the looper effect on. This track has audio in from the input track, and monitoring set to 'in' - so the signal always feeds through to my looper. Avoids the need for arming... Hope this helps
