The United Kingdom would do well to shepherd Fiona Hill to the leadership of government and become Prime Minister. I doubt there’s anybody more clearheaded than her in politics at present in the UK!

Very interesting, I hope that the right people are listening to this woman. As an Australian I think that our voting system is much closer to the Gold Standard than the USA.

I also enjoy listening to such discussions from Europe, very informative subjects. Fiona Hill is certainly knowledgeable on Putin, but also on the Russian people.

Fiona Hill is my hero not just because she is brilliant but because she exposed the terrible situation in the north east of England and the fact there is a horrid caste system there that has barely improved in all these years. I’m from Newcastle on Tyne and left for the US in 1965. I had a non-existent “secondary modern” school education and self educated by learning what I could at the local library. Only because l scored well on an IQ test did I manage to get into nurses training in 1958. I’m glad I didn’t stick around because Dr. Hill had an almost as bad a problem 20 years later. There were hardly any universities in those days; most of my “high school teachers” were unqualified and I would never have made it to university- there were very few universities back then for us average folks. It was horrible and since I wasn’t as bright as Dr. Hill I had more modest aspirations. In the US it was entirely different. Education was /is available for the taking. I ended up atUCLA in a special nurse practitioner program and never looked back having continued education throughout my career and beyond.

Fascinating insights on a range of US, Russia, Ukraine and UK issues. Many thanks!

Fiona Hill always excellent. I often thought she was one of the few people in the USA who understood what was happening in the US and the rest of the world. Her expertise of course was despised by Donald Trump as was she, because Trump hates experts and only wants 'yes men' or 'yes people'. 😁 This woman is always worth listening to. Great interview. Well done Fiona Hill.

Her line, in her book, is that she is an oppressed British working class girl, forced to study at a small university in Scotland (before escaping to the USA) that was all that would accept her out of class prejudice. Mind you that was a few years before Prince William attended the same university (St Andrew's) and met Kate Middleton there so they weren't here contemporaries there..

Fiona is so much more relaxed, and fun exposing her thought process in the U.K. then she is in the U.S. Freud is called to explain it ... And Tough questions were asked to Fiona, but as always she handled them skillfully. It is always a learning experience to listen to Fiona Hill .

I respond to Ukraine every day. I know we all have to do our own bit. That's the only way to help. I'm surprised the bureaucractic nations have finally responded so strongly.

Dear Sir, at 47:37 you jumped on her accusing that it was "an unexpected turn of the conversation " without even listening to her whole thought process... She was just being graphic and given a clear example to a wider audience. Was that your Macho Controlling hand that wanted to take over ??? Lead less, let the guest talk !!!

Ms Hill has made slightly lazy critique of realists explanation of Russian invasion of Ukraine. Given she is at Brookings hence not surprising.
