In Part 1 of Romans, David Pawson showed that the reason for Paul to write to the Roman church was the tension between Jew and Gentile within the fellowship. Because of their different backgrounds, he deals specifically with the issues confronting them - whether to eat food offered to idols, keeping one day special each week. David shows that the keyword in Romans is ‘God’, occurring more than any other. Paul had to discuss the Law for the sake of the Jews and license for the sake of the Gentiles. The main theme is the righteousness of God, and David says their own good deeds are more likely to keep people out of Heaven than anything else. Salvation is a process that must continue to the end. God justifies us before he sanctifies us. David’s brief outline of the book: Chapters 1-4 Faith which looks to the past; chapter 5 Hope which looks to the future; chapters 12-16 Love which is concerned with working out the present. Chapters 9-11 dwell on the Jews. Paul communicated the Gospel by word, deed and sign. David encourages us to examine a book to break it up to find the structure to aid our understanding.

4:24 what is missed here is that the sabbath is the picture of our rest with god in eternity, the sabbath that is to come that paul wrote about. that is why it is the day that god set apart, blessed and commanded to be observed, the only commandment that god said to be remembered. it is the day of freedom from the worldly influence, the day that reminds us who we are-the creation made in the image and likeness of the creator and sustainer of the universe and everything in it. we can create all reasons to substitute it with other days, but what matters is the reason god said he commanded the observance of it. it behooves us to have his word as the final arbiter of our lives, not human decrees and fanciful thinking.

Amen. Exactly! As much as I lots of respect for David Pawson, I have to disagree on his views about Shabbat. Shabbat is still relevant and we have the liberty to worship the LORD on any days, including Sunday. But Shabbat is Shabbat.

39:59 other than the blinded understanding of the law of god, this is an excellent presentation for me as it showed me the angle that i sorely missed: he was writing to an ekklesia that had a serious rift between jews and gentiles.

No, this is for all believers, after all, the bible is the most precious book God left us. Full of his word, so we can know him and live according to his word! As a woman, I’ll never be a pastor, but I have the honour and obligation to tell the good news of God…

5:46 it is not a matter of which day a believer wants to keep special. it is a matter of what day god commanded to be kept special. if there was a change, would jesus not have taught it before his sacrifice of himself and during the 40 days after his resurrection? why was paul going to synagogues to worship, to the temple to offer sacrifice, observed the holy days of lev 23? why was peter recorded as having kept kosher some ten years after jesus ascended to heaven and even thereafter?

6:30 amen. sola scriptura. obeying god's commandment is not legalism. legalism is trusting that our obedience is what saves. not the law, but jesus saves. obedience to the law keeps us saved.

David mentioned a great barrier between gentile court and other courts “No Gentiles” so he was falsely accused taking a gentile beyond that barrier. I guess one who pressed the charge is the Jewish court. Why don’t they see both themselves as sinners. Paul didn’t do it physically is there any clues is spiritually 😢

Its good to read the "Present with Religion", a book available for free on the internet. The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life for the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the truth is the key factor in our salvation.We must know the truth and live in irlt and change ourselves according to it in order to be saved.There ia no other way to our salvation.With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changing our minds and also true obediane to God' s law and finally our sanctification which is a lifelong process.And God in His mercy will give us His wonderful grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in this way will we be able to attain our eternal salvation.Our task is to find this narrow gate that leadscto God and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what.Then and only then wecwill be saved.There is nothing more important or serious to do in this fallen world as oir eternal fate depends on it.

10:23 paul said he magnifies the law just as jesus was prophesied to do and did. the only thing wrong with his fellowmen at that time was their pinning their salvation on their works, not the work of jesus. the law of god is the law of love. everything he commands us to do is for our good as it is grounded on love. that is why he says choose it and we have life. i pray that before you go you realize that the law of god will not perish till heaven and earth perish.

11:08 sin is breaking god's law. changing his law is breaking it. nowhere did jesus teach that the sabbath was no longer commanded to be observed. nowhere did jesus teach the sunday, the day the pagans worship their gods, was going to replace sabbath as the day god's people come together to worship him, have communion with him, learn more about him and his way.
