Awesome! I hope you have a fun trip! They are definitely on the beaches this time of year. Make sure to cover that first trough line and stand out of the water because sometimes they are sitting mere inches from the beach!

Great video. Brought back great memories when I lived there from 1983-92, caught countless snook. My favorite lures were Chartruese/Orange Little Cleo spoons and believe it or not a chartreuse/green barracuda tube lures. Reeling as fast as I could to trigger the attack. Peppertree Point marina pier and off the rocks at Punta Rassa were my two go-to secret places.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad I could give you a chance to relive the memories. The beach and surrounding area sure has changed since Ian, but one thing stays true -- snook loaded on the beaches during the summer.

Thanks for the home scene video. Been in Midwest taking care of parents and can’t wait to get back to Venice! I left a week before the hurricane.

I just came across this video and see it’s close to my old stomping grounds. I use to fish behind the Mariners Boathouse back in the 90s and I will tell you that place was hopping with snook, reds and blacktip. There was an inlet behind the resorts that had 2 cuts channeling in from the ocean and when the tide came in or going out the fish would go nuts. Since then I think it has closed up with sand I would catch greenies in my cast net Even behind the holiday inn was a spot where smaller snook would hang out. It was full of muck and mangroves but great times Once even saw a dolphin chase a snook up into the surf on the beach side. Miss fishing there!

Love to hear the stories of how my home waters were back in the 80s and 90s. Lots has changed since then, but lots has also stayed the same. Still a good number of snook, although from the accounts of those who have been fishing here 40+ years, they are significantly less common than they were. One thing is for sure, they still come in and around the fort myers beach area heavily during the summer time. Plenty of good memories to still be made here even though it was absolutely destroyed by Hurricane Ian. Still can't believe it.

Thank you for the kind words! The bridge is called Big Carlos Pass bridge, which connects the south end of fort myers beach to lovers key. Thanks for watching!

@@f2fishing628 Great job, thanks bro. Regards from an ex South African now living in Greece. Greece is seriously OVERFISHED. Subscribed and liked.

Oh, awesome to have people seeing my videos from halfway around the world! It is unfortunate that Greece is overfished because the Mediterranean is such a gorgeous place. Unfortunately, due to mismanagement of the fishery, Florida is looking to have a similar issue on its hands within the next few decades. Thank you for watching and commenting. I have more videos coming soon!

@@f2fishing628 I don't think Florida will be as bad as Greece.

@costaplenty74 likely not, we are working very hard to get the government to take further protective actions for protecting our water quality, which so far they seem to be receptive to. The main problem is the mass die off of seagrass. Though it has improved vastly over where it was 10 years ago. Cheers!

Hey there, thanks for watching and commenting. Both fish were caught on an nlbn 3" paddle tail in a greenback color pattern. Also used 10lb braid and 20lb monofilament leader, hope this answers your question!

How many times do we have to watch you cast and get nothing……. Boring!

Unfortunately, that's how filming fishing videos goes sometimes. If the fish aren't on a fire bite, you have to fill the video somehow. If I just posted a 1 minute video of me just catching the fish, the algorithm will put it in purgatory. If you don't like the editing style, then I can't help much. Thanks for watching and leaving feedback though 👍
