" And what did they wear, mostly? They wore this� Which was called 'Bauta.' Now pay attention, the first document mentioning the Bauta dates back to the 13th century. The Bauta was a hood, you see� And it was made mainly of this part that would make you completely unrecognizable, if you used your mask� The mask was called 'Volto' (Italian for 'Face') and allowed you to drink and eat without taking it off� You see? A hat kept everything together. In the 1700s it was usually a 'Tricorno' (Italian for Cocked Hat). Men and women showed up in public this way, completely in incognito, and they were free to do whatever they liked - mind that this happened for over six months a year."

It just feels great wearing them. Some of them are a bit strange because they cover up all of your face and it's difficult to breathe, but it's a great feeling."
