Camille Claudel is the first comprehensive North American exhibition focused solely on Claudel’s work in 35 years, making this presentation of more than half of her entire body of work a rare retrospective. Mounting an exhibition of this scale-nearly 60 sculptures demonstrating her broad range of genres, formats, and materials-is a complex feat. In this conversation, exhibition co-curators Anne-Lise Desmas of the Getty Museum and Emerson Bowyer of the Art Institute of Chicago, are joined by Cécile Bertran, chief curator and director of the Musée Camille Claudel in Nogent-sur-Seine, France. They will discuss the development of the Musée Camille Claudel, artworks that could not travel to the United States due to their fragility, and lost works, providing a holistic picture of the artist’s achievements during her most prolific years.
This program was presented at the Getty Center and Online on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, www.getty.edu/visit/cal/event..., and complements the exhibition "Camille Claudel," www.getty.edu/art/exhibitions....

This was a great talk! The dynamic between the presenters was lovely, and I enjoyed their respect and matter of fact representation of her work.

Betsy Werner Brand Senior Media Digital Producer and Museum Communication and Public Affairs of the Museum at the Getty Art Museum in Los Angeles was caught on camera using the most vulgar profanity possible, having a complete psychotic meltdown, breaking the law and violating law abiding citizens rights, I saw this on the iimpct channel here on this platform

We, absolutely, CAN link and Should study her psycho-pathologies in connection with her work because the artist always manifests her/himself in their work and we can't admire one while ignoring the other. Claudel deserves to be understood fully, not particularly, not for the sculptures that sell books and tickets. And if you ignore or overlook her psycho-pathologies, you participate in the promotion of an unhealthy view of mental diversity while promoting the unhealthy view of artist as persons who must be mentally ill or they can't be geniuses.
