While DC has constantly been making figures of classic/older versions (Keaton Batman, West Batman, Reeve Supes, constant Nolan Batman stuff, etc etc) Marvel has weirdly avoided making new figures of non-current movies. We pretty much never get any non MCU Marvel stuff, aside from the Fox X-men anniversary figures and (weirdly enough) the TV Japanese Spidey

Yeah, and it's not even just DC, we've been getting OG trilogy Star Wars figures, Back to the Future and TMNT, Diamond Select has done classic movies. Everyone has done classic/older movies aside from Marvel. Like you said, only the X-Men figures

Not a lot of classic live action Marvel characters. All I can think of is the TV series Marvel characters, like Spider-Man and Lou Ferrigno Hulk.

Yeah, Marvel really doesn’t have that many “classic” actors in comparison to franchises like DC or Star Wars. They only really started nailing movies in the early 2000s. I think we also gotta consider Disney’s ownership. They’ve made huge efforts to devalue the characters with movie rights they didn’t own. They’re all about the hot new actor and IP. So older iterations are more likely to just be ignored or downplayed unless it’s to their benefit.

@@jonathandelgado3755 it's also likely that Marvel/Disney have had this weird ass ideas that everything should have MCU synergy whether it be the comics have MCU inspired costumes, to games needing characters that are gonna appear in future MCU instalments like MVC3 and MVCI to those cartoons of avengers assemble and guardians of the galaxy being MCU cash grabs. It's been going on since the early 2010's and it just happens now that people are starting to realize that, it's one of the reason why the Earth's Mightiest Heros show was cancelled because Disney/Marvel wanted a show that would be more MCU inspired.

always thought that was weird no context he just stepped in from where? it would have been so much better if we got a glimpse if we saw him and MJ (Kristin Dunst) watching tv or having dinner when the portal opened up to get a shot of where he was in life at this point.

@@NTEDOG561 (I think maybe it was the actors that said this i’m not sure) Apparently they deliberately didn’t reveal many details about the other Peters lives because they wanted to keep the writing for the characters and their stories consistent and respectful to their original directors and writers. It’s the reason why Peter 2 and 3 only mention enemies that we’ve seen from their movies and literally no other ones. The only actual details that are revealed about them is Peter 3s continuing guilt over Gwens death and Peter 2 “making it work” with MJ

I'm surprised hasbro didn't try to make a Raimi 20th anniversary line last year to celebrate the first movie, or at least sneak in a Tobey Maguire SPiderman figure for their spiderman 60th anniversary line, would've been better than the iron spider/future foundation figures they released.

People be hating on the iron spider and I don't get it. I have it and I don't see a problem with it, it has a good sculpt, OK articulation and it was accurate. I don't get why people don't like it.

Agree about the hips. I feel like all that extra junk creates the illusion that his legs are shorter than they actually are. That being said, everything else looks absolutely sick. Worth overlooking that quibble for a figure that hits every other mark

@@arctrooper209 Yeah but this december the movie will be 2 years old already and mafex hasnt even anounced theirs yet...way to long already these things mater,figuarts is way faster, more durable and almost just as good with the movie superhero stuff..in some rare cases even bether..i dont have my figuarts tobey spidey yet but from what ive seen already in love with it and it really doesnt let open wishes so far to get one from mafex or other company imo..with the andrew spidey could be different since he doesnt come with Parker heads.

I may not even collect Marvel SHF action figures, But to be totally honest here, Toby Maguire Spider-Man from Spider-Man No Way Home looks really good and so will the cool but so funny Andrew Garfield Spider-Man figure despite Hasbro not getting their head likeness for their own NWH 3 pack, Great review overall Wade.

Its a good figure but im not going to let nostalgia blind me. It has its issues. But it’ll hold me over till whenever mafex makes theirs. Hopefully its much better and i feel its highly likely it will be. This figures good enough for now tho. Happy to have a tobey spidey figure again

Oh yeah this figure is fire, this is already top 10 figure this year lol. I’ve been excited since they first announced it. The hips don’t really bother me since they do it with dragonball z stuff which is my favorite line to collect. I have never owned a tobey spideman figure before and I really wish they had made one long ago.

The hairline seems to be accurate. Tobeys got a bit of a thinning hairline and i think that big gap is just part of it, he hides the top much better

Wade, Tobey and Tom are the same height in real life so that height is accurate Andrew is the one who is taller than both of them

Yeah about the height, Tobey and Tom are the same height. They're both 5'8" so if anything Tom's Figuarts need to be a bit taller to scale up with Tobey
