Police corruption relating to drug trafficking runs deep in the city of New Orleans. Officer Len Davis, named, the 'Gangster With A Badge', has his pockets lined with drug money, extorting dealers for protection money. The FBI detectives work with undercover agents posed as drug dealers and informants to set up a sting operation to bring down the corrupt police officers of New Orleans.
The FBI Files is an American television docudrama series. Each episode describes actual FBI cases which include murder, narcotics, bank robberies, and kidnapping as well as other crimes. These are portrayed through dramatic reenactments and interviews with agents and forensic scientists who worked on the investigations.

I know that sounds extreme, I however know the trust that are put in these peoples hands an as far as I am concerned ANYONE from a preacher to the president that shows there is a more important thing than their sworn duty, they should be dead. Then you would see what a beautiful nation our founders handed us. Just because someone is under suspicion of breaking the law, doesn't give you the right to mistreat or kill someone.

Orleans Parish solved this problem by ceasing to recruit most of their officers from Orleans Parish. Most NOPD officers don't even live in N.O. Most don't even live in Orleans Parish. The upbeat ending makes it sound like there was a clean sweep through the city and everything had a happy ending. When in reality alot of cops from other jurisdictions were compelled to do 'loan tours' into the sewer city, bolstered by an abnormally high presence of state troopers, and has been largely written off as unpoliceable. Orleans has deteriorated to the point that they can't find viable recruits in the city, and the other departments that are basically forced to pick up the slack have little incentive to police an area they don't live in, don't vote in, don't send their kids to school there, and have no plans to ever do so. If N.O. wasn't the home of Mardi Gras, the other agencies would have let the city wilt on the vine and die off by now, but unfortunaly that one holiday brings in tons of cash over about two weeks and the none of the City and State officials want to give up that cash cow. So they just keep sticking band-aids on everything. Now there is rampant corruption in the jail/correctional facilities as well. Drugs, Firearms, female guards prostituting themselves to inmates by the dozens. It's beyond saving. For years i had to work in and around New Orleans and hated everything about it. The traffic, the smell, the people, the infrastructure. I thank God I don't anymore. If i never go in that city again before I die, I'll be a happy man. The only people that willingly live there are people who have no choice but to. It is a garbage heap.

Just as there is a 2-tiered justice system in politics these days, there should be a separate responsibility accepted by anyone who signs an oath to the community. That responsibility should go above and beyond the punishment for convicted civilians. Those punishments should be much more severe and carry no immunities or deals. Is there anything more insidious than corrupt civil servants? (from DC down to the local dog catcher)

Until our countries entire law enforcement system is changed, there can be no such thing as a "good cop." From local rural police, county sheriff's, big city police, through every state's police department, the FBI, all the way up to and including the US Marshall's and the Secret Service, there is not a single person sworn to uphold the law who has never themselves broken the law and gotten away with it, or has been privy to other officers breaking the law and doing nothing to stop them. Their code of silence, or "thin blue line," qualified immunity and lack of accountability by the so called "honorable" judges, magistrates and prosecutors ARE the TYRANNY our founding fathers were worried about. We need to rebuild the justice system from the TOP down BEFORE all these sovereign citizens masquerading as government officials cause our next civil war. The only thing worse than no police is bad police.

In one of my replies I once warned about the very same thing you mention here about goverment officials , in my reply police force, causing a civil war. One guy was soooo angry telling me not to bring evil on you. Not my intension at ALL. though I live in a country where for past 15 years we had a president and s specific partyleader who stoked that fire for all the could. Then when the president was 15 minutes to announce at the prison for his jail sentece all hell broke loose. Burning plundering in 3 4 different provinces. Man it was horrendous. Police did not even turn up saying Intelligence had no pre warning about any of what was coming. And who cleaned up??? Civilians - black, white, indian, 80 year old gogo's (granny), black man in a Wheelchair, business people of all nationalities, every one pulled together. It could have turned in a civil war because that was the intension of that president and up till today that party leader. So coming back to your last sentence: the only ting worse than no police is bad police, in our case governing. So thanks for your confermation on my previous reply. Why would Davis plan to kill JJ when JJ was the supply and they didn’t know his higher up and there for ruin the gold mine? That makes zero sense.

He was starting to distrust JJ. He also had that woman killed and a new chief joined the force, so you get sloppy in your thinking. This was very common in the mafia-they start to slip when taking on too much, too many killings, and everyone becomes the enemy in their mind. Davis became a loose, greedy cannon.

Corruption happens anywhere. If you believe there’s a “perfect” job out there you’ll die not finding it. Yes, corruption happens in law enforcement agencies, but don’t let it swindle you to believe they’re all like this. There’s a ton of good ones out there. Don’t let what you see on your screen dictate the hate and bitterness you’ll form in your heart.

39:13 I know it's a documentary/reenactment but they could have portrayed the obituary at least somewhat correctly. Her name was Kim Marie Groves not Kimberley Georgia Groves and she died in 1994 not 1999. Smh

@@linfordrenno7651 yes she was, and in 2018, the City of New Orleans agreed, as part of a settlement, to pay the $1.5 million to Groves' three children over four years. You're absolutely right...it is very sad.

@GS-38 looking that up a little it looks like her daughter is working in the justice system which is good a bad act brings a positive…. But now days or even on a lot of the FBI Files the authorities makes sure no one gets hurt…. But I guess it was 24 hours or less from the time of her complaint to the murder… just seems like it could have been avoided someway…

The NOPD paints such a bad picture as what good agencies try to do everyday. They are not police officers if they are implicit in illegal activity.
