Honestly this weapon was a fantastic addition to the show and honestly the very concept of it would be a good addition to a story or a dnd campaign

The sword of grass in my opinion seems to be the most powerful sword that finn has ever had, in my headcannon the sword of grass is extremely attracted to Finn specifically for his cosmic entity energy, that power that he only uses once when he builds a tower to go see his father

So we just gonna ignore the fact that the auto-target mode on the grass sword is _constantly cutting an image of its user’s face into its targets_ as if to imply borderline obsessive sentience. You even said it yourself- it’s like a lover that won’t leave. It’s a god damn yandere. More importantly though the constant origami of the users face is saying “I will create. What you are is under my control. I will mold what you become.” And with fern that definitely was the case in many ways. Honest to god on a second watch the constant cutting of Finn’s face by GS is one of the creepiest aspects of the entire show. Grass Sword is one of the best examples of terrifying, eldritch h power in all of adventure time. Imagine the magic that went into its creation. If magic is a reflection of its wielders dreams and imagination who created this sword, and why? Choose-Goose says it’s “because he wanted a cursed sword to be cool” but fuck man just make a talking sword you can throw away if you don’t like it. No. That mage wanted a partner. Someone who would never leave them. They added bloodlust to make it more powerful and the bloodlust eventually tol over. The “evil” of the grass sword was never evil at all. It was only desperation for love which is exactly why it fell into the hands of Finn the Human. A person with no easy options for love.

I think that the Grass Sword is great, but it's only weakness being, ironically, Finn himself. Since he is just a emotional teen, all the negative emotions he has just doesn't work well in tandem with the sword. For example, if Rattleballs were the one to wield it, he'd be nigh unstoppable since he has a honed and disciplined mind and would most likely be able to control it.

We seriously need an episode talking about demons and where they come from. Cause honestly there are so many things in this show that are referred to as demons yet don’t seem to come from the Nightosphere that I’m honestly confused as to what the term actually even means anymore. A few examples: -The Grass Demon/Emissary of the Beyond -The Shadow Demons (that haunted Jermaine) -Bryce (Has blue skin) -Ogdoad (Who apparently hails from the shadow realm even though he’s a demon) And a bunch of other guys who are just total-anomalies

have you ever done a video on where johnny, aka lumpy space princesses one-time boyfriend, disappears to? i know she “kills” him in the episode bad timing but he appears in the border section of the episode. even princess bubblegum says she does now know where he went. One key detail/event I think you neglected to cover is HOW exactly the 'Curse' of the Grass Sword was actually able to corrupt the Finn Sword/Alternate Finn. ie; When Finn accidentally stabbed the Finn Sword with the Grass Sword while fighting Bandit Princess. As we see in flashback, that was when the Grass Curse was able to get into the Finn Sword and began corrupting the Finn within it. What I think makes this important to note is that PRIOR to this, I get the sense that the 'curse' was in fact entirely benign, and even beneficial to Finn. It clearly wasn't influencing his mental state and never seemed like it was gradually 'spreading' or consuming him. I think the reason for this is that while the Curse was able to bind the Grass Sword to Finn's body, it had no way actually influencing or corrupted Finn's mind or soul, even after growing a new arm for him. So when Finn stopped fighting the curse and just accepted the sword as a useful tool/companion, the curse really had nothing to do. But that CHANGED when Finn accidentally used the Grass Sword to stab the Finn Sword. Thanks to this act, the Curse finally had DIRECT access to the soul of (Alternate) Finn, and from there began to merge with and corrupt that Finn to create Fern.

I don't know if I necessarily would have wanted this, but the show seemed to imply there was more to the little grass octopus, given that it called itself an "emissary from beyond" and could very subtly be heard referencing something called 'the Rising' in one or two episodes. Dropped plot point, or just random bullshit?

I think you are overhyping the dangers of Grass Sword. The Finn Sword didn't have a body, and was only able to communicate in very special circumstances. When the grass sword regenerated HIS ENTIRE BODY FROM ZERO and forced his conciousness to manifest, it's no wonder that it had a lot of influence. It doesn't damage user, it only helps him imperfectly. And while it's sometimes aggresive it's not that much of disadvantage unless you are using it INSTEAD of your body.
