Amidst the roar of engines and the high-speed drama, a curious narrative persists: Chase Elliott, many fans claim, “has no personality”.

They think Chase has no personality? , People forget....Kids are a piece of their parents. Chip off the ole block , apple from the tree etc. ...why expect Chase to be over the top when his dad was exactly the same as he is now. Subdued. Humble. Quiet. Unassuming. He never got overly excited , no tantrums , no on track revenge or show boating Bill wasn't loud or a show off about anything. Set records all over the place for years and was the same ole Bill. So why when Chase has grown up at the track with Bill as his father , teacher , coach mentor , etc etc would they expect him to be so different now.

I’ve met him twice. First one was when he was competing in Nitro Rallycross. So many of the people that showed up were there to see him, he couldn’t care less. Felt like he was only there on Jeff Gordon’s orders to get out and be seen outside the track. Second was at a restaurant before the 500 last year. He’s got personality, it’s just the personality of a doorknob.

Elliott's demeanor aligns with what was historical for the sport pre-Waltrip, pre-Earnhardt, pre-Richmond, pre-Busch and pre-Stewart. No acting, just a real Southerner who races cars which comes off as dull to the rest of the country. David Pearson, Bobby Allison, Neil Bonnett, Harry Gant, Ned Jarrett, and others never had compelling interviews. They understood the most important thing to them was their ride, so keeping the sponsor happy with good finishes and professional interviews was their main goal. Most of the drivers today are more interested in wrecking anyone in their path to win and whining like babies when they finish 2nd or worse. A large part of that results from the Nascar playoff format. Second, the level of questions pit reporters, race commentators, and KZfaq people ask the drivers are garbage compared to Chris Economaki, Benny Parsons, and others. If you're constantly asked lazy and dumb questions, the drivers quickly lose interest. The media treats the drivers like they are on a Big Brother set and try to continuously poke them with a stick to make them break instead of having any genuine interest in promoting them as people. I wince more at the questions than the answers.

He’s just like his father. The fruit doesn’t fall too far from the tree.

People mistake him having a dull personality with “no personality”. He is rather boring in my opinion, but you are right about how others complain about Joey for smiling, Bubba for being emotional, and AJ for being a bit more out going and hyper. So really it doesn’t matter what any of us think. They’re just being themselves and we resonate with who we resonate.

Imagine being such a hater that you miss the point. It's got nothing to do with being butthurt, we never even said we were fans. And we discussed a lot more drivers in this than just Elliott. We do op-eds that present both sides of an argument. Clearly, we know which side you're on, thanks for playing!

Only Nascries moan about drivers not having personalities. They don't want personalities, they want WWE wannabe on wheels. And NASCAR delivered.

He's an average to above average driver who popular because of his daddy. He'll be put in the HOF more because of his popularity than his talent. Don't forget how he manipulated the outcome of the race at the Bristol night event in 2021. And served zero penalties for it because of his silver spoon. He's dirty often but doesn't pay a penalty for it the majority of the time. Give him great equipment and he'll be decent to good. But when fortune swings away from Chevy & HMS, like it periodically does, and watch his averageness be again on full display. Screw him. He's the 4th best at HMS, hands down.

Ah, nice take. I think you might want to go re-evaluate some of your "facts" there. Also, in 2018 when Chevy was struggling, who had the most wins for chevy? Chase with 3- and the only other Chevy driver that could win was Austin Dillion in the Daytona 500. Sorry that Chase has hurt your feelings, but tearing someone down with outright lies is interesting to say the least.
