This video is tough to make. It’s a beginners Blueprints tutorial for Unreal Engine 4. But Blueprint is such a vast topic, it would take 100 videos to teach everything there is to know about them. So in this video, I want to introduce you to Blueprint as simple as possible. This video is for those of you who have never done a single line of Blueprint programming.
I’m a big believer in LEARNING BY DOING!
Getting familiar with Blueprint in Unreal Engine 4 will take hundreds of hours. It’s a skill like anything else. The more you work with it, the better you’ll get at it. You truly must put in the work to get good with Blueprint. It’s not as easy as people would like you to believe it is. But, once you get good with it, you can make virtually anything you want. It’s very powerful!

Finally a proper tutorial! All the others I saw so far were trying to explain you blueprints by following their instructions to build something but fail to explain why they use certain functions and what's important. So in the end I built something via blueprints but was completely clueless of how to do any of it on my own. You here do it perfectly by telling us what functions do and why they do it without overcomplicating anything, thank you!

I just recently got into game development and I got really overwhelmed with all the Unreal Engine windows and panels that just went BOO! on me (I first started with Unity but I am not able to write any code since I never even got into that, then I was told that the UE blueprints are much more powerful than Unity visual scripting so here I am). You really helped me to understand the basics and stop being lost in the whole thing, I finally was able to make at least some progress in the starter level and changed some stuff a bit. Thank you for helping me (or all of us who need help)!

As someone interesting in film only, I would love to see video about 'the absolute minimal blueprint understanding possible' for making videos. I'm talkin 'here's how you do control rigs' and what are the absolute bare minimum nodes you need to know...and whatever else is minimally needed for artsy types to use Unreal to make our videos with the least technical knowledge possible. Pretend you're teaching Windows to your grandparents. Heck, best possible situation is show me a project download that has a minimal blueprint system so I can build my video around it, do scenes in levels, shoot them one level at a time, have a pre-made control rig, add some post processing, and if it works without me having to learn about booleans or whatever, I'll send you the 1060 I just upgraded from. I'm serious about that too. It's just sitting in the box. I love unreal, but math makes me cry. And I'm willing to weep for my vision or whatever. But I'd like to weep a tiny bit less.

Here is what I understood so far, blueprints are like visually animating properties or details of each component which you see in the viewport or the actual game screen. Basically after you add a specific component you can modify it by looking at the right hand details panel. All this time I was scared by the fact that there were so many nodes which now after understanding just turns out to be functions/attributes of each component which are manipulated by blueprint visual scripting system.

One thing I don't quite understand... At 15:15 he creates the event "TurnOnPhysics" and at 16:32 he uses the call function but it is named "Turn on Physics". So it is a slightly different name (because of the spaces) and it also automatically goes to the event when double clicked. Why is it named differently but still acts as the same thing and how does it know to go to the event when double clicked? Am I missing something?

This seems to be just a strange quirk of something that is changed at the base code of unreal. It will add spaces or make connector words lower case on its own. Since the base code of UE is C++ I assumed that would be a big deal.
