This works well I just figured out how to swap parts of the mesh also from this tutorial. Now I need to devise a plan of action to change clothing and mesh models with some kind of selector

Yes, I plan to continue the Series. Very helpful tip at this Point. You just need to add Animations to the Third Person Character. Since the Metahuman is just a Child Blueprint, it will automatically use them as well.

Thanks for the tutorial! I used a "short" metahuman, and now the hands of my metahuman are hanging slack as if the skeleton does not link up from the elbows down, but I can't figure out how to fix it 😂 looks really weird

I wish metahuman had a skeletal mesh like the characters downloaded from mixmo. We could do all the special animations directly on the metahuman character.

Since you can select the quality of the MetaHuman, you can choose the file size. The lower the quality, the lower the file size.

Hi, ive been able to follow your tutorial until 1:53, when toggling the 'use live retarget mode' to true nothing changes, the metahuman doesnt show the idle animation or anything, it just stays static like before. could you possible help me with this? (i use ue5.3)

1:18 Changing forced LOD doesn't make hairs appear. I don't have all the groom components attached to the face. I guess I have to add them manually. For something so simple, I was not expecting something else than spending several hours trying to make things work. Why nothing never works?

So you used the Quixel Bridge and the Character Blueprint that came with it, including the necessary Plugins?

@@Seredias. Yes, I have all plugins activated, but still no hair components in the blueprint. I haven't made more test, my project doesn't open any more I think it is dead. And the metahuman I downloaded has disappeared from the bridge anyway. I really fear to use metahuman again, I see how much troubles I have for 2 hours now, and I'm just at 2 minutes in the video

I would try that inside the MetaHuman Creator, that should be the easiest way.

Since the MetaHuman is already the Third Person Character, you don't need a new Animations Blueprint. If you created the BlendSpace for the ABP_Manny, it is already assigned.

@@Scairp I don't know which blend space you mean. Did you create this yourself? The MetaHuman in your case BP_Scairp does not have its own animation blueprint. That’s why we use “re-targeting mode”

That sounds more like criticism of the engine and not the tutorial. The question would be who defines what a character is. The engine is the basis for developing a game. It's like expecting furniture to be in the forest.
