On my third day in Guatemala in partnership with the Real Intercontinental Guatemala we headed out on an UNREAL food tour of Antigua!

I started by having a delicious breakfast at the Real Intercontinental Guatemala and some fantastic coffee. From their we drove one hour south to Antigua. We partnered up with A La Carta Tours and Antigua Rides to give us this unreal food tour of Antigua.
We started by heading to the neighborhood of San Juan del Obispo. Their we saw a 15th century church and had some Chuchitos (Guatemalan version of Tamales). They were spicy and delicious!
Next up we entered Chocolateria Antigua to see how they turn Cacao into chocolate bars. We then tried 13 different chocolates. They were all so good! I had to buy myself some.
From their we walked down the street to El Abuelo del Vino which is a fruit fermenting factory. They ferment over 40 different fruits and turn them into fruit wine. We saw the process and tried a dozen very strong wines!
After that we drove across town to Cerro de la Cruz to get an incredible view over the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Antigua. To end the tour we hit up La Cuevita de los Urquizu to have a truly unique Guatemalan meal. When you visit Antigua you have to eat here!

I got to say I've had best REAL chocolate from Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Belgium, but the best overall chocolate is from Antigua, Guatemala. No wonder the Mayan's of Guatemala loved this stuff, Guatemalan chocolate is the best in the world.

Yes, the Mayas definitely introduced chocolate to this world, they even had it as money. They bought exchanged and paid for goods with "ik choculat". Whenever you go to Antigua Guatemala please try some, its definitely delicious.

@@richie760 I'm going Febuary, I'm meeting with some friends from Canada that have already been there 9 times, They go every year and they absolutely love it there. They also have Family that moved down there. I'll be staying for a month. I'm so excited, They say Guatemala has really beautiful waterfalls. I'm Big on waterfalls, i Can't wait.... I hear so many Amazing stories from Guatemala..... they make it sound like an indiana jones movie or some adventurous place where the unthinkable can happen. I'M FREAKING STOKED!!!

HAIL HYDRA that’s awesome! I’ll be there too half of the end of Jan until Feb.16th c; Antigua is like a hipsters paradise, any small business there will flourish. Very safe there too. Also look up, EXPLORE Xela, another safe fun historic town.

I loved this video! Im Guatemalan and I moved to Germany this year. Your video made me cry and miss the sooo tasty food, damn! Thanks for promoting my country we need it, shame that too few people know about it. One last tip I can give you is... don't ever compare anything that's Guatemalan to anything that's Mexican haha

I'm from Guatemala, but I live in new jersey usa, years ago i tried a mexican tamal because i was missing the guatemalan tamales, I got so disappointed, mexican tamales are like Guatemalan chuchitos, but with a huge difference, mexican tamales are plain, simple, flavorless with little or close to nothing meat or chicken inside, dry with almost nothing of sauce inside either, it's like eating a big chunk of cooked corn masa, Guatemalan chuchitos are better, tastier, juicier and with a big piece of meat or chicken inside, obiusly mexicans unsuccessfully copied it from Guatemala, and then they called it "tamal", pff, if you want a real, big, juicy, tasty and delicious tamal, then eat a Guatemalan tamal.

Please, you share a border with Mexico and the Maya people lived in both countries. Of course there will be some similarities, particularly with Southern Mexico. It's like saying that Portugal has nothing in common with Spain

que estas hablando maje Mexico y Guate son paises hermanos, los dos son paises Maya; en los dos se como mucha tortilla de maiz, en los dos se come frijoles, tamales, etc. Los mexicanos son mas cabrones con el chile, Guate podria ser un estado de Mexico (digo por el tamanio). O bien podriamos decir que Mexico es como si multiplicaras a Guate por un chingo, nuestras comidas son tan similares. no se si es la envidia que ellos siempre llegan al mundial o que mano

I've been planning to go to Guatemala for a while and hopefully I will finally be able to go at the end of this year. This is by far, the most informative video on Guatemala yet and it's really well made! You've done a great job showing Guatemala's cities, natural beauty and places to visit just by focusing mostly on the amazing food and Guatemalan people. Love it and I am even more excited about Guatemala now than ever before.

I was in Guatemala in 2018, and it was so amazing. I went to that restaurant too! It was too bad that I discovered this place a day before I was leaving! I ate my favourite food! I bought the Chocolate and made it for those winter cold days! Amazing! Love Guatemala! Guess what! I was born in Guatemala. I hope to go back this year again! I can't wait to visit Sololá, Tikal, Antigua, Rio Dulce and clime one the Guatemala's volcano! Love Guatemala!
