As someone who was born in USSR i can tell what the whole shtick with "Zviozdochka"(golden start) is. When we were kids parents used to smear that blasphemous anathema under our noses to unclog the congestion, but the side effect was ultra overpowering eucalyptus punch through your nostrils right to your frontal lobe. it would cause brain freeze, migraine for days, uncontrolled ugly crying and temporal lobotomy. Weapon repair serves as "money sink" so it would require introducing weapon clean kits, specific for weapon type (handgun, rifle, shotgun) or maybe even 2 for a weapon type (approx 9mm and bigger for pistol, approx 5-ish mm and approx 7-ish mm for assault rifles) Or maybe you're right? We either pay Mechanic/Prapor for cleaning and repair or use either generic or specific cleaning kit.

@@PobortzaPl The repair costs are pretty trivial to be honest. The intent seems to just make jams more common, in which case cleaning would work well. Would make more sense to have a universal weapon kit with varying qualities. Cheapest being craftable with toilet paper and water, but doesn't clean to 100%.

Nowadays an UMP is the scourge of the game instead of a rifle caliber because games refuse to throw "game balance" out the window in exchange for realism. Tarkov should straight up be a game of "use what you find" instead of "get to level 15 and just buy the best gear off the flea market. The game should be a CONSTANT struggle because thats what the idea behind Tarkov IS. A constant struggle for survival. But instead its Cawwadooty but "harder". You should have to unlock all the traders except Fence. Fence should be the only trader from the start and your only way of getting gear through a market until you unlock the other traders would be to sift through the fence store and make a build with what you can.

@@davidray2682 The UMP kinda sucks after the first few days of the wipe when people start getting level 4 armor. Then it becomes decent again once you get access to the AP ammo. But it still sucks against level 5 armor and the bullets are very slow and it has terrible horizontal recoil, so it's only good against budget players in cqc. The UMP is way overrated imo.

Meh. It helps but it isn't fixing bullet holes, broken limbs or amputated limbs. Works for headaches, fever, and soreness. That's about it.

As a broke veteran working in a wallmart as an assistant manager I'm almost in my late forties (I'm 43) in my time in the marines ibuprofen saved me from a lot of pain after getting hit with shrapnel by a mortar round by accident. In my experience my legs who got sharpnel in them ibuprofen saved me from a lot of head aches from the painkillers the medics put in my body.

I actually did run with Analgin after my legs were blown up with landmine🤣

What if your PMC had to shit or piss in-raid to avoid dying of dysentery or some bullshit? what if getting your leg(s) blacked out made it so your PMC had to crawl for the rest of the raid? would you enjoy the game at that point, or would you stop playing because the realism interferes with gameplay? Summing everything up to "skill issue" only shows how ignorant you are

Yeah, I’m already @ weapon maintenance lvl 5 and I’m seeing a difference in weapon durability when I’m repairing after 3 or 4 raids. And besides. Repairing scale weapons or weapons you get on your scav on a scav run boosts that skill so fast. Also repairing disassembled weapons helps as well.

But they already added weapon maintenance skill...

Imo just make traders sell guns with quality that falls in a random range. Make it tunable per trader item so the newer guns sold by them are typically in really good condition while all the cold war and second-hand shit is low durability. Maybe FIR stuff is more likely to be more durable, making FIR versions of guns more valuable than the trader weapons. Now you can have durability matter without needing it to drain at ridiculous rates.

@@ceazzzz to be fair, they don't call it starvation but exhaustion. Maybe without food you get tired and pass out and (probably) can't get up and die to some scav, which is why it's so fast. It's weird.

@BloodyPFX I’ll second this, there’s a reason they include snacks in any military ration, if you’re out in the sun, on patrol, you’re probably already not eating enough due to operational constraints, add in not having western supply lines due to being a pmc and it isn’t that unrealistic

@@smurfsmurf4502 there's a lot of flechette ammo types. The ones that pierce armor are stabilised steel darts and can do a lot of damage. On the other hand you have a lot of metal rods that do absolutely nothing. Even birdshot is more effective than those.

Lack of bigger animals is kinda realistic, depending how long the region was in state of practically war before EFT time. I, however, am glad that they didn't make smaller animals more realistic. Just thing - Factory should be swarming with rats feeding from all this bodies. Same thing for Woods and birds - you have dropped someone and in less they minute crows are all over them.

Literally. Even CSGO which doesn't give a damn about realism emulates aim punch. If you get hit by even one bullet, your movement speed is dropped significantly for a portion of time, making it very easy for the enemy player to finish you off. In Tarkov, I'm spraying at Scavs as they're sprinting around like ants, shrugging off bullets like nothing.

Yeah, scav should be able to headshot throught thick and long grass, because that is how real life works. Soldiers enter bushes like they were empty inside. No roots, branches, stalks. Very fun mechanic which does not reward camping and does not create BS encounters where enemy is invisible.

I don't care what pain killers you're on, a broken leg is a broken leg (especially when doing forttard moves off buildings with 60+ pounds of shit). Hell, in an adrenaline fueled state you have a natural pain killer but no amount of morphine is solving your shattered bones. I came to this game to get into a game that is as close to real as possible but then there are turds wiggle peaking and parkouring. A) no one is "wiggle peaking" in combat and actually able to land any hits. 2) no one is parkouring in kit and being able to land any hits.

It's ridiculous too. Realistic helmets would just allow underequipped players to have a chance. Can't go to factory to bully noobs and scavs when your 1m kit might be ruined by some buckshot. The argument of "Oh but why use them otherwise." is equally as ridiculous... If the price was lowered, and helmet quality had higher ricochet chance and reduced nade damage then they'd still be used. Just make the focus on ricochet's (which is more realistic). Drastically buff their chance of happening, but make even lvl5 helmets only block basic 9mm and basic buck.

Ask any military doctor Ibuprofen fixes everything. Burned? painkiller, Food poisoning? painkiller, Broken foot? painkiller, Cancer? painkiller.

If we are talking realistic, I have had a gunshot wound to my leg and chest and was not at all in any pain. People seem to not understand what realistic means. In reality, your PMC would be too high blood pressure and have too much adrenaline to feel the pain from a bullet wound. Having a random chance to have bullets cause pain means you could end up with 4 bullet holes and 4 times having this annoying effect. The only painkiller that should do anything is morphine as its powerful enough. Over the counter pills, Vaseline should be for low level pain. Like getting hit in the body armor. It wouldn't hurt as much as a bullet wound, but you would still feel it enough to cause pain especially if it broke a rib. Which hurts WAY MORE than a gunshot wound to be honest. Broken legs, you are completely fucked now. No pain killer is going to help the muscle in your leg function correctly when its folded into the bone. It's either going to be fully realistic or arcade like. If it got to the point I needed a blood transfusion, proper supplies for stapling bullets holes and what not - it would take the whole raid just to treat a single gunshot wound. This stuff would just make the game annoying to paly. Pre medding is the dumbest thing, as soon as you get shot all of those pain meds mean jack shit. They only work well when you take them AFTER pain. Go ahead, take an ibuprofen and do stub your toe when it kicks in. Your body is numb but your foot is in pain.

And lessen your combat effectiveness because you're high as a kite.

A thing I think k would fit number 3 is a sorta weapon system like stalker gamma but better? Sorta like the trigger only taking damage from drops and bullets hitting the gun barrel bolt etc take damage from firing and eventually something like the lower receiver bursts open and tou have to but a new one

Did you ever play Totally accurate battlegrounds? Plus the first rounds always have the most recoil so burst firing is useless, in reallife it is the opposite. Soldiers almost never shoot full auto. Either burst or semi

@@Wuschi2001 love TAB, what really drags me down about tarkov is even if recoil is heightened for balancing, which 100% makes sense, for a game that has a community that can refer to it as realistic (not everyone says that obviously), it just doesn’t make sense to me especially with this wipe that things such as basic 545 and 556 send the gun just straight upward damn near 45 to 90 degrees when even beginner adult aged shooters given the chance to fire automatic will notice it is actually very controllable. My problem is that the guns feel way too floaty (if you get what I mean), as if you aren’t even actually holding the gun and it feels as if you are pulling the trigger with a string on an unsupported rifle. Again this is all stemmed from looking at it from a “realism” standpoint where it’s obviously a videogame but I feel their version of balancing is way too exaggerated and can sometimes really take away from the experience.

@@Demortra I agree 100%, always love experimenting with new mods and it’s as you said, the reason for why stock guns perform horribly. Its more of a nitpick for me that they perform as horribly as they do for say, a new player. But at the same time going on more open maps without mods is a way of proving your point. Its all down to how deterred a player is as a fresh account. Especially with the stock m855 feeling almost unusable at the beginning for this wipe.

There is a repair kit in game but it's literally the same as paying Prapor or mechanic, I agree the gun cleaning/ maintenance should have more depth
