Hi John, love your videos, thanks. My Question, the 3 reels stopping at the same time. Is this the normal operation for the Comet machines?

I love mine! Have a 10c version of this. My machine sat in the back of a chicken coop covered with a tarp in Northern New Mexico from 1950 when the Johnson Act was passed abolishing legal slot machines outside of Nevada and New Jersey. I purchased it from the son of the original owner. It was missing the back door and the piece behind the coin mechanism. I enjoy this every day. Anybody have a 1c Pace Bantam Gumball machine laying around?? I'd be interested!

2 ways: 1: from advertising and marketing literature, you can find dates when different firms promoted their machines. Those documents typically have publication dates. 2: Pace (and other makers) would stamp serial numbers into cases and/or mechanisms of the machines produced, and there are records indicating rough date-ranges for each range of serial numbers.
