UNSOLVED 23 Year Cold Case: Police Called After Finding Upside Down Car in Lake!

Today I traveled near Great Falls, SC to search for missing person Teresa Shannon. I ran sonar several days earlier and discovered a flipped vehicle in Fishing creek lake and returned with Jeremy to dive and remove it. Teresa went missing in 1999 from Lugoff, SC about thirty minutes away so I believed this could possibly be her vehicle, a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass. The visibility was poor and after diving and pulling the plate we called the police to report the vehicle. It ended up being a dumped VW car, not Shannon's but we still removed it from the lake. Shannon was last seen driving away from Western Sizzlin' Steakhouse at approximately 2:30 PM on February 4, 1999 in Lugoff, South Carolina. She attended a SisterCare meeting with her friend earlier in the day. SisterCare is a support group for battered women. Last seen driving a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass plate number 605-CJY.

What all of you do in rescues and recovers is so heart warming. Especially recovers where families would never know for sure. But how you do it…. It has to be rewarding but heartbreaking for you at the same time. Kind of puts you in that realm like my son.. a cop… no one should have to see what cops and y’all have to see. No matter how strong a person is it’s the once seen never forgotten. I couldn’t do it. Which makes me even more thankful that you and others can. God bless and protect you. Nice to see the cops understand about the drinking water but still this one seems weird that the people act strange to me. I mean come on it was registered to this lady and it’s not that old a vehicle… just seems weird to me! VW vehicles are known to float so maybe that’s how it got so far out. Just wonder how the heck anyone got out of it quick enough to just steal it and run. Sometimes humanity’s thinking makes me just shake my head! I also really appreciate the tow company was willing to help. So many are out there only for the money. I mean ya they can sell it for scrap. But like you, they don’t know exactly what they are getting. I’m gonna go back in the video get info and leave a Facebook shout out for them. I’m in Texas but maybe it will get them business where they are. Wish they had flipped it… just in case. You know!

I love you guys banter back and forth. So cute. Yall have a laugh when you can and are very professional and respectful when you need to be. And ah yes mexican food. Yall ever look down here in tampa bay area? There is a lady here missing from 3 decades with her car. Caught my attention bc she is blonde like me, trying to leave an abusive relationship and drove a blue mazda all like i did 3 decades ago. Her name is Brenda Starr. Sounds like foul play tho. I been looking into it. I don't how yall feel about gators. im wondering if that is why if her car is found but remains aren't in car is that a thing? No telling whats out in gulf. There are definitely lots of sailboats in the intercoastal. Or interesting finds near the marinas and bridges here. Are there cars in the gulf under the skyway from the bridge collapse of 1980s i think. Watching yall makes me want to learn but i am concerned about having asthma and diving. Is it safe for people with asthma? Anyways good video. Maybe yall will bring a lost soul next trip.
