yes let it idle for at least 12 minutes without throttle so the ECU can remap

Agreed, but the bike wouldn’t stay ON for that long, it was shutting down on its own.

That’s not true
@fazm1bico
@fazm1bico 8 ай бұрын
that probably happened, because when you switch the OEM filter to the K&N Filter, when you turn on the motorcycle for the first time, you need to let the ECU adjust automatically for 20m and can´t touch the throttle while waiting. That's what happens, when people install stuff without reading the instructions!
@RanjanSh
@RanjanSh 8 ай бұрын
You probably too much into reading!!!. First thing, the so called ECU takes only a few seconds to adjust, not 20 minutes. Secondly, if you see the video, the bike wouldn’t start… so I am not interrupting the ‘adjusting ECU’ it is interrupting itself…. Infact I was trying to keep it up.

That unstable idling is due to the changes you have made. The ECU is recalibrating itself..it is advisable to keep your bike's engine on for atleast 10-15 minutes. This issue will resolve on its own.

Good sounding ones bro I was looking to get the exhaust but not sure as am getting mixed reviews Recently after a water wash also my bike idling was not stable and 4 or 5 tries it became normal

Sound wise, I am currently riding it without baffles and I’ll give it 10/10 on just the exhaust note. Idling issue, I’ve faced just once, that’s in this video… after that I’ve ridden the bike almost daily (short) but never faced idling issue. I think the issue with this exhaust is the baffle, the backfire due to the baffle is not calibrated well and hence the idling issue…. Ride it without the baffles and I’m sure there won’t be any issues. Let me know I’ve water washed and didn’t find any issue, what was the feedback you got after wash?

@RanjanSh
@RanjanSh 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don’t think it will be an issue with the cops without the baffles…. It’s not very loud unless u rev it beyond 3K. Opinion on the exhaust, I am not facing any issues personally but a guy told me these are no dyno tested and it fkd up his engine, had to get it redone with the RE ASC, he moved to red rooster (Apparently, that’s the only dyno tested exhausts in the market). I can give you the powerage manufacturer’s contact details if you want and check if it’s dyno tested. My experience with the exhaust is good… drop in low-end torque but increased the rev-band… giving a good high end torque. If there are any issues to the engine, only time will tell.

the bike will be running very lean fuel mixture, you might need a fuel commander to not toast the exhaust valves and keep the motor cool.

@@RanjanSh I'm an automobile enthusiast. That's how fuel injected engines work! The air filter is increasing airflow rate making the fuel mixture lean, you'll need a custom tune. If not you're engine will run hot. Heat generation and fuel mixture are inversely proportional! Leaner the mixture more the heat.

With your logic, if one removes the air filter, the engine will start running on air. That’s not true. Air filter is only filtering the air… that’s his job. He is not putting more air in the combustion chamber.
@RanjanSh
@RanjanSh Жыл бұрын
The fuel supply in case of FI is controlled through an electric brain, or ECU, which constantly makes complex calculations at a very high frequency to deliver the best air-fuel mixture possible. Based on a whole variety of parameters such as engine speed, throttle position, engine temperature and load etc the ECU directs the injectors to let in just the right amount of fuel with every intake stroke to facilitate the most efficient combustion. FYI

I think you need to have let the motor completely warm up and cool down without touching the throttle so the EMU can remap the new airflow parameters the new air filter and exhaust will have given it. That's what I did with mine and I have had no issues.

Yes, you are right. I did this a day before… in my previous video when I installed both these products. Didn’t think the filter plate would matter much, but looks like it did. @@RanjanSh The Motowing Trident is highly appreciated by its users to provide better throttle response and retain the engine Back pressure unlike straight pipes like Powerage, AEW etc. Even Trident doesnt allow baffle removal for optimum exhaust flow. you guys can watch their engineer's video explaining the process and its very promising on how the claimed 2 bhp gain is achieved. Also their exhausts are dyno tested.

Yes, trident exhausts are dyno tested and also authorized by RE. It’s build with collaboration, definitely they will give better results. However, I believe changing just exhausts provide any advantage on performance… it hasn’t been proven ever. The exhaust note that powerage provides, no other exhaust match that pleasing note (in my opinion). MW trident, is not also my liking.

Not at all mandatory. Air filter increases the air intake into the engine, that’s it. Has no relation with the exhaust.
@dhanush_srinivas
@dhanush_srinivas 2 жыл бұрын
yes it is because your air output is more, your air intake needs to be more, otherwise it’ll choke the engine
@RanjanSh
@RanjanSh 2 жыл бұрын
@dhanush - it’s just a myth…. The exhausts do not create a vaccum - meaning, if air intake is low, just because the exhaust pipe is free flow, it will not tend to suck more air from the headers. So for performance upgrade, people change Air filters, free flow exhaust and ECU remap to inject more fuel for the extra air, that increases performance since combustion is increased. If you change air filter or just the exhaust, nothing is going to happen….
@dhanush_srinivas

@@RanjanSh yeah but if you dont change the air filter, the fuel mix will be lean and thats not good for the motorcycle right?
@RanjanSh
@RanjanSh 2 жыл бұрын
Nothing like that. Again, the air filter is not pumping any air, it’s just allowing more air (incase asked/sucked) the ECU is a smart one, it only asks for as much air enough for air/fuel mixture. Only if you do an ECU remap, and don’t change the air filter, the bike will run lean.
