Dead Serious came out a few weeks before my final exams in high school and I special ordered it into Canada and it was a life altering moment. That album on repeat was the soundtrack for my studying and I crushed exams and got into 2 top universities. Anything related to where I am today is traced back to that pivotal time in early 1992 when this album was my anchor. Huge thank you to Das EFX for being jussumen on da mic. Respect!

Grew up with Scooby in the same building, 390 Bushwick. They moved when we were still young. Das dropped when I was about 20-21 years old. At that point I hadn't seen Scooby in about 10 yrs. Had no idea it was him and I loved these dudes. Last time I saw him we were elementary school age. The dreads didn't help. It happened to be my Dad that told me "Books in reverse" from Das was Scooby or Willie Hines form the 6th floor, because he had just come from Scoob's father's homecoming. I'm like nahhhhh. Checked one of the albums and saw W. Hines and I'm like oh shit!!! Then on the 3rd album he actually told some of the story where he was from in the song "niggas just can't have nothing".

Yo the 2nd lp was so underrated. The fact that they deaded they own style that they created and then went uber lyrical on the sophmoree jawn. Yo straight fire! I played that cd heavy asf!!! 2 different lps and both were fire asf!!! And then Hold it down..the 3rd lp, real hiphop...oh my god!! DAS EFX mayne what a time to be alive!!!

I was just a little skinny white 12 year old skater from San Diego when one late night I was watching the Arsenio Hall show with my best friend. And these two guys came out with the dreads and spilled their rhymes on stage. We were blown away. We had to know who this Das EFX was. My friend and me would almost play nothing but the DAS EFX for a year straight. Nothing else like it at the time. I still rock their tunes to this day
