Linkin Park is an alternative rock band renowned for their hits “Numb,” “In the End,” “What I’ve Done,” “Castle of Glass,” “New Divide,” “Crawling,” and “Faint.” They worked with artists like Jay-Z, Metallica, Steve Aoki, and Paul McCartney - amassing billions of global streams and received the UN Global Leadership Award for their humanitarian work.
Lyrics:
A fire needs a space to burn
A breath to build a glow
I've heard it said a thousand times
But now I know
That you don't know what you've got
Oh, you don't know what you've got
No, you don't know what you've got
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
I thought I kept you safe and sound
I thought I made you strong
But something made me realize
That I was wrong
'Cause finding what you've got sometimes
Means finding it alone
And I can finally see your light
When I let go
'Cause you don't know what you've got
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
Until it's gone
'Cause you don't know what you've got
Oh, you don't know what you've got
No, you don't know what you've got
It's your battle to be fought
No, you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
Till it's gone
Till it's gone

@@danyecip Although Mike Shinoda makes good music and moved on as a vocalist it is not LINKIN PARK !!!! I miss him greatly as a band and especially Chester's unique voice and concept as a person! He was like most people with good and bad days but we have to take in considering that he experienced hell as a child and eventually the pain and all the badness became too strong and he did the worst! But it is not to be condemned because the question is how we would have acted if we were in his skin ???! Chester rest in peace and I hope you are in a better and more beautiful place than this damn globe!

Ace of Death 02 Well, probably because he thought EVERYONE are haters who was like "we hate your new shit, LP is dead" before Chester's death, but suddenly went "We shouldn't have hated this, this album (one of the post-Meteora albums, especially One More Light) is actually a masterpiece" after he died. And that made everyone sounded like hypocrites. Not everyone is like that, however. I, for one, was quite fond of One More Light for how it is (a lyrical album), although I must admit it could have been better. And A Thousand Suns is my favorite album.

Most underrated? Doesent even is the most underrated Linkin Park song, look for Forgotten, By Myself, With You, High Voltage, Nobody Listening, Hit The Floor, In Between, No Roads Left, Dedicated, and much more. Doesent even is the most underrated song on the album, look to songs like All For Nothing, A Line In The Sand, Keys To The Kingdom, Rebellion and any song that Mike sings or rap. I dont even talk about underrated bands, such like Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots and Tool, all of these even the most popular songs are more underrated than Untill Its Gone.

Let's be honest, a lot of songs from LP are criminally underrated. Most people only remember meteora and minutes to midnight. And even on those albums there are underrated things. It is very hard to tell which song is the most underrated, since each song could be easily title pieces on albums of other bands.

Everyone's always saying how they are very disappointed in LP for not sounding like they did back in albums like Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Here's the thing people, Linkin Park is an EXPERIMENTAL band. Which means they experiment music and see how they sound with it. Of course they are going to change. Hell, look at the band Disturbed. All of their songs and albums sound the same and they give me a headache. I like LP because no matter how different their sounds are, I seem to enjoy it either way. Also, Chester did say in an interview with Scuzz that him and the band don't give two shits about the people complaining about what they make now. Chester basically says "if you don't like us then don't listen to us, how hard is that?" And he's right.

+Peyton Martin Fully agreed, I was a little worried a little while back though because they started doing stuff with Steve Aoki and I personally don't like him(opinion, please don't kill me Aoki fans) and releasing other remixes of stuff that I didn't enjoy. But now they are back on track. Still yet, after reading this post, I realized that Linkin Park will always hold a special place in my heart. I have been listening to their music since 2003 when Meteora album came out and that album to this day, is still my favorite album from LP. I also agree with Chester's sentiment that people complain about any music that doesn't fit their taste. I get it, I am one of them, but I am not a complainer. I like change and have accepted that music shouldn't sound all the same, if there was no variety, the music industry would be boring and make no money.

I couldn't find a word for LP's style for a long time but now the best I could describe their style of HT & Meteora is like... GangstaGrunge(?) I mean if you think about it it was a combo of the two like nirvana or Alice in chains meets NWA- THATS the original linkin park I grew up with but, I really really want them to go back to the style of hybrid theory and Meteora. Not because it's familiar, but because it was/is ORIGINAL. I Ps I use caps to emphasize. Sorry if it seemed like I was yelling.

its not them changeing, cuz they do have a menager telling them whenthey need to make what kind of music and when its gonna hit the most, thats why they went with a litle bit of electro in the previous 2 albums, but they returned to pure rock for THP, and i love THP cuz there is rock in the music, and almost no electro...

Personally, I see it this way: -Their first album: "Hybrid Theory EP" (1999,), was a GREAT insight into what the band would be known for, a well-made blend of rap and rock -Their second album" "Hybrid Theory" (Bonus Track Version, 2000,), was the first Linkin Park album I ever listened to, back when I got into them after hearing the song "Runaway," from an old promo of Shadow the Hedgehog. Ah, memories. Most of the songs have a nice blend of rap, and rock, with more emphasis on screaming, and more punk this time. -Their third album: "Reanimation" (2002,), was mostly just new remixes of the songs from Hybrid Theory(2000,), but overall, I actually quite like some of the remixes. Granted the whole album isn't perfect ,and some of the remixes are NOTHING compared to the original songs, but overall.......meh. -Their fourth album: "Meteora" (2003, Bonus Track Version,), is probably my favorite album of theirs of all time. SO many catchy songs(Breaking the Habit, Numb, Easier To Run, Faint,), that I grew up with back in elementary school and middle school, and this is the album that PUT Linkin Park on the map. A perfect blend of rock, rap, some punk here and there, and GREAt techno. Overall, their finest work, which has YET to be topped. -Their fifth album: "Collision Course" (2004, Deluxe Version,), was ok. I like the remixes, and granted, they featured Jay-Z, who I despise now, but this was back when people could actually tolerate his music somewhat. But, Will Smith does indeed save this album by giving us an AWESOME remix of Numb and his song Party Starter. Overall, a decent album. -Their sixth album: "Minutes To Midnight" (2007, Deluxe Version,), was a slight improvement in terms of their musical direction. Granted, this is probably their softest album, with rock elements being an occurrence here and there in a few songs, but overall, it was a good album. -Their seventh, and most mixed album, "A Thousand Suns" (2010, Deluxe Version,), continues to cause SO much controversy to THIS day, mostly because the band took SO many new directions with this album. Focusing on more alternative rock, rap, and HIGH emphasis on electro punk rock. Overall, I actually quite like it. I hated it upon its release, but looking back on it, and giving it a good listen a few more times, the album is actually VERY AWESOME! I LOVE their experimentation, and most of the songs are nice to hear. Overall, SO underrated! -Their eigth album, "Living Things," (2012,), saw them return to their rock elements, but still had emphasis on electric tecnho punk. Overall, a nice comeback, but could have been better. -Their ninth album, "Recharged" (2013,), WAS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! It took all the songs we loved from "Living Things" and turned them into garbage substitute dub step remixes. HORRIBLE ALBUM............except for the new song: "A Light That Never Comes." -Their tenth album, "The Hunting Party" (2014,), was the album fans had been hoping for. Taking away MOST of the electric punk and techno rock that left fans mixed, this album focuses CORELY on Linkin Park's: punk rock, rock, and rap. Most of the songs on this album are flawless, and in fact, is as good as Meteora. Yeah, I said it. Deal with it! The songs have that classic Linkin Park feel, and it makes you feel all nostalgic all over again! Overall, this IS the Linkin Park album fans had been hoping for! NEAR FLAWLESS! Oh, and P.S., in terms of their movie songs, I love ALL of them. -"What I've Done" - theme from Transformers (2007) -"New Divide" - theme from Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen (2009) -"Iridescent" - theme from Transformers 3: Dark of The Moon (2011) -"Roads Untraveled" - ending theme song from Need For Speed (2014) All of these songs are PERFECT, FLAWLESS, SOLID ROCK SONG THAT MAKE THE MOVIES LISTE DHERE EVEN MORE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely disagree ! Minutes to Midnight is having more and more good reviews because people realize how great this album is after critisizing the turn they had with this album. It takes some years but now, LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST, BLEED IT OUT, SHADOW OF THE DAY, IN PIECES and THE LITTLE THINGS GIVE YOU AWAY are taking the way to "WOW, THESE ARE MASTERPIECES !!!" and finally people get it after 10 years.

In the Past, Linkin Park was known for it's loud, headphone blasting rock music that sounds awesome. To this day, they still keep track of the genre, but they've gone less louder and more emotional. Either way, LP never gets unnoticed with amazing rock music.

Old LP still sounds different but I agree that old and new are great. What I didn't like too much was the stuff in the middle, I didn't care for Thousand Suns. But Hunting Party is great and I have good expectations for their next album. What I like Linkin Park is their mixing of genres, rap/electronica/metal. The metal is key I think, that's what I love, all the calming parts of the song build up to the heavy chorus. Certain songs like this wouldbe considered a rock chorus instead of metal, but like Meteora that is my stuff. I blast that crap in my car.
@dimitarvel1441
@dimitarvel1441 7 жыл бұрын
Well their old stuff is more aggressive and includes more guitar, screaming, scratching and faster paste, stuff for teenagers, and they thought -we don't want to do the same stuff we have been doing for the past 7 years, and since our fans are maturing, we should make more mature songs. So instead of anxty and angry lyrics, they included political meanings to the songs, no more sorrow is a good example, then they saw that that's going nowhere but still wanted to make the same stuff with more electro, so they made ats, then that album was comercial success, but the fans didn't want this lp, they wanted the old LP so they created another album or living things that included mode guitar and drums, but they didn't give any meanings to to lyrics and some of the songs weren't very energetic and so few years later they decided to create an album that is a lot like HT and Meteora, the golden age of nu metal style album and thp was born

It’s okay to let it out hard. I did too bc while I’ve heard this song, I actually didn’t see this video until shortly after 1 am on July 20, 2018. The haunting beauty and truthfulness of it all plus the chilling timing hit me like a bullet. I thought of my everyone close to me that’s died before their time, friends who lost loved ones before their time, friends forever maimed by car accidents or minds warped by what they saw in war, dead relationships, failed aspirations, whether life actually matters, Chester’s kids, his wife and band mates. Yeah, I broke knowing that everything even our memories eventually will be gone, that eternity is something we made up. BUT the words “it’s your battle to be fought” left me with renewed purpose, a resolve to fight against loneliness, my own thoughts of suicide, my addictions and unhealthy lifestyle. It’s a battle I’m determined to win even if it takes a level of suffering and hardship I couldn’t before imagine. I will make Chester proud even though we never met. That’s the power of music that reaches the soul
