I love how everyone says "I'm depressed so if I can control myself Nina can too" ok I'm glad you guys can "control" yourself good for you. Do you want an award? For some of us depression isn't easy as keeping it to yourself. There are times where I couldn't help it. And there are times where people are just annoyed because you aren't happy. Ok Nina isn't happy all the time. Why bother her then? Why ask her opinion just to invalidate her responses? As someone who actually has struggled with this leaving me alone was way better than people getting annoyed because I wasn't like them. If you don't want to help leave the person the fuck alone. On a lighter note who's station is by the werk room door because I need to know why I haven't seen the debut of that gold and black gown yet.

As a clinically depressed resident of the land of Self-Doubtia, I feel a certain amount of empathy for Nina Bo'Nina Brown Jessica Parker. I cannot imagine going on national television, putting myself in a stressful, competitive environment, and leaving myself open to an edit that focuses on my more negative qualities. But I'm kind of baffled by the reaction toward the other girls from the audience after this Untucked; none of them signed up to be a mental health professional, nor are any of them required to help/be empathetic toward someone they've known for a few weeks max. It's perfectly understandable to be frustrated with being around someone you don't have the resources or training to help for 12+ hours a day in a situation where you're trying to defeat them in a competition, especially when Nina refused to pull herself together whatsoever. If this were an early season, Nina would've had an infinitely more difficult time in the social aspect of the game, as RuPaul's Best Friend Race only became a thing in the past couple of seasons. She was blessed to be in a group of girls who were invested in her, rooted for her, and wanted to build her up for 10 (!) episodes of television, even as they were dealing with fatigue from the competition and she both refused to engage with them (see: every time she spent Untucked staring at the wall) and allowed her paranoia to get the best of her.

I know it's been years, but I can't tell you how much I still respect Nina knowing and calling out her limitations. You can FEEL how tired she is. I really think she knew the best way for her to get out of her head at this point was to remove herself from the things that were triggering her. People mistake that as weakness, as laziness, as giving up, when you aren't able to communicate it well. But it's practical, and it takes strength to admit that you have limits and know when you've reached them. Sometimes your personal hurdles are so big that you need to take more time to find ways around them. And that's okay

Seeing the guys talking back stage as they announced the bottom two and then ninas elimination made me tear up too. It was so great to see how much they respect the queens and how much they really cared about doing a great job for them. This was such a good episode!

Lmao, we all knew Nina threw in the towel because even with Valentina she was serving everything. I hope after the show Nina has found some peace, she's so talented and I want to see her soar. If Nina did give it everything Shea might have gone home. Then again, Shea can turn it out too.

the “I’m going home” montage is edited the same as it always is, yet this one is the only one that really gets me emotional. Nina’s elimination was prophesied and set up so many episodes before this, and each time she got to stay it felt like a small victory for everyone who’s fighting through depression. when she finally went home it felt so bittersweet. you could tell how defeated she felt at this point, yet it almost feels like a relief to see her finally get to walk away from a situation that she clearly was not in the headspace for. as someone who’s struggled with the same thing my whole life, I understand now that giving yourself time to rest and really dive into the reasons that you’re struggling is the only way to get to the other side, not just “sucking it up” which never works long term when you’re in this deep. I commend the girls for giving her that pep talk because I’m sure those are things that she needed to hear in that moment, but it’s so hard to watch her begging to just be understood and to have them tell her that what she’s thinking and feeling is wrong.

As a depressed individual, I understand Nina--doubting myself, constantly being negative, and being hard on myself when I don't do well are all things I struggle with on the daily. Throughout this experience, I've learned to accept that I can't always have people be beside me to console or cheer me up when I'm down. Depression is hard to deal with sometimes, I understand why people would not react in the best way when faced with it (Trinity straight up said "I don't care what mentally is going on with you but don't give up"). People deal with things in different ways. Although I wished the queens were understanding of Nina till the very end, RPDR is still a competition and they had to focus on themselves.

The crew members reassuring one another made me so happy. And they obviously love the girls and love doing this show enough to stick around for a long time. This is my favorite episode of the show itself for a long time.

Clearly, building Nina up all the time was mentally and emotionally draining for the other girls. They did it every episode, and got no positive response back from Nina (and I understand why that is, don't get me wrong.) But they just couldn't do it anymore. It was too much for them. Especially Peppermint and Shea.

I think Nina should've been on S8 because those girls seemed kinder and more empathetic and she probably would've vibes with them better. (Chi Chi, Thorgy, Naomi, Kim, Acid, Robbie, Naysha)

My heart breaks for Nina, as someone who’s had to deal with people diagnosed with depression my entire life, I know how difficult it must have been for her to find her place and feel motivated to keep going. I also want to give props to Trinity for still trying to make Nina see what the rest of them were seeing. Because I know how hard it is to find it in ourselves to keep pushing to hopefully find a breakthrough. And it was obvious by this point that the other girls were tired of Nina’s constant negativity and the way she kept looking down on herself, which is completely understandable but Trinity really came through this episode and last when she complimented Nina on her amazing makeup skills before going out to lip sync against Valentina. I hope she’s in a better place mentally nowadays. I’ve always loved Nina, from the first moment I saw her on screen.

I wish they showed Nina reading her letters as Im interested what the girls had to say to her especially after all had seem to had it with her. Just hope Nina is able to win her fight against depression and really truly love herself and see how amazing she really is.

I'm debating whether or not Nina should have done the show this season. She clearly struggles with depression and being in a competition where you're critiqued and surrounded by other talented people probably wasn't the best environment for her. And I understand the other girls' frustration of trying to build Nina up and she just kept being negative. I really hope Nina overcomes her depression though because she is talented, she just needs the confidence.

Nina needs to see a therapist. It is so difficult watching someone so self sabotaging and insecure. Nina is quite amazing but, her abilities are overshadowed because she’s also a huge energy drain to anyone near her. Seeing all the queens try to cope with Nina’s paranoia and attention-seeking behavior is extremely hard to watch but is also educational. Drag Race is definitely a microcosm of life for sure! What an excellent teaching tool wrapped with an entertaining bow.

I'm going to miss you nina but I'm glad you were able to perform even though you "knew what was up." I love the crew members. I know it must be awesome working on this show

It really hurts to go back and watch this. 3 years ago, I really identified with Nina and understood her self-sabotaging behavior and negative outlook. It’s just the way that depression ravages your perception. But looking at it now... it’s painful to see someone do that to themselves and I can’t believe I even fell into that same mind set. The friendships and relationships I demolished by not accepting kindness... I just really hope Nina has learned to love herself to the fullest.

I love Nina, a lot. And I can relate to her on a personal level, always feeling defeated even when I'm awesome. Depression and anxiety can be debilitating. But most people don't make it where she did. So many people don't understand. Also, many queens are overly confident. I love the more self-critical ones like Nina, who deep down know they are good but are also capable of stepping back and seeing a flaw or two, makes her more human that way. Any haters can fuck off, she's the real deal. Can't wait to see what she does next.

Pierre is honestly someone I'm a huge fan of. And I'm not really a "fan" of most people on a level I am of Pierre. He's constantly misunderstood and taken for granted. He cares about his fans. He interacts with them and let's them know they are seen. He doesn't create a wall with the fans. He's one of those amazing people that has cultivated an amazing sense of humor from the pain he's felt from his depression. What most people see is a man who has every reason to believe in himself but just doesn't. What I see is a man who fights against his demons daily and just when he feels like giving up he keeps going. The strength it takes to do that is titanic. It is heartbreaking how the queens get upset that their pep talks aren't working and they take it out on him as if he's just not trying hard enough. Years later he gets canceled over nothing. And he STILL doesn't have a wall up against his fans. His real fans. That's why you see blocking happening on his channel, so he can keep that accessibility with those people who appreciate him for what he is. This is a genuine person and those are so rare in this world that the world doesn't know how to handle their authenticity and I relate to that very personally. I would really recommend checking out and supporting his channel.
