As someone that started paying in dec 2021 this is absolutely true, if it wasn’t for my friends I would have never spent 300 hours on this game

I have around 2k hours in Unturned. This definitely needs to happen. Having a complete vanilla experience while playing on a relatively high pop official server is something this game needs. Without a doubt it would increase the player base. The effort required to make this all happen will be rewarded massively Edit: I actually have 1k hours, not 2k. My bad

unturned definetly needs a clean and new player friendly menu, there have been so many times i wanted to play but just couldn't find any normal servers. also official servers would have pop especially if they had wipes and had their own section (like an extra tab above the internet option) simular to rust

SCP SL has Official Servers which work like this suggesstion. A couple are run directly by Northwood Studios, but most of them are community servers vetted by Northwood with minimal plugins/mods and a high standard of moderation.

Even a simple “modded/plugins” checkbox on the server list that’s automatically disabled upon first booting the game up would be pretty good.

I agree the server list was a bit confusing when you are new and a ape like myself, I played single player for like a month and realised there were servers with players

I mean either way new players in any server are generally gonna get destroyed by the long lived community of veterans. Server list just needs more content like emeralds fallout new Vegas which added a new pace to unturned but even servers like that dont last long cause no one knows how to run a good server and or listen to its communities.

I mean, I sent an email to nelson about the possibility of Unturned Offical vanilla servers because for the most part I just dislike modded, same goes for if I ever wanna play a game like rust. who the hell goes straight into multiplayer after playing a survival game like unturned for the first time? i understand if you go multiplayer with your friends(which is hard to find nowadays, not to mention the friends that you luckiely do have only play on 2fort 24/7 servers and dominate everyone as sniper because their dad teached them cs as a kid.) but instandly join a multiplayer match? without getting any information prehand about the gameplay loop that youll be finding yourself stuck with? alrighty then. i guess i am the crazy one.

The fact that you pay 30$ for it on console and you get 6 servers with 3 people online truly ruined it for me, cross-play is necessary in 2022 for any game

I just wanna play a server that nelson made for the player base it would be a great thing for the community and it would bring a lot of new payer to a place where than actually learn how to play the game the right way not a server that you can make a nuke a destroy half the map.

There are a few semi popular vanilla servers, mainly being SOD's servers, but the main issue with those is that any time there is over 20 players, the server is getting stalked by zergs.

As someone whos played for 3/4 years with 5800 hours i agree with zman whenever i hear of a new player joining that i know i alweys give the advice to play single player first ngl however i believe official servers wont fix the issue as veterinarians of the game or good players will continue to just dominate said servers

when I first started the unturned server list was easily understandable

I have 200 hours on unturned and i didnt even know that theirs a players button on the server list

I play only on PVE Servers because PVP servers tend to be a giant war zone mess, because: -The popular servers tend to be full of tryhards that kill anyone they see. -The servers are Modded to the point where even a new player can kill you because they found a Modded Minigun on a Bank Vault.

I have been playing Unturned since the end of 2014. I really really miss Unturned vanilla. It is what made the game so good for me when I first started playing. I still really really enjoy vanilla (clapping geared kids with a hawk hound feels so good). This official server pin would make the game more pickupable. Because getting beamed by a 5000 hour player with a maple strike from a kit on a Washington 100x isn’t fun as a new player. New players can’t do anything against me or other players like me. This makes the game so unpickupable for new players. Vanilla allows new players to have an advantage by having a better chance of surviving since not everyone has a full kit. I want other people to have the same feeling Unturned gave me. There are other problems with the game such as the community and the lack of real experiences (you see someone, you fight; there is no interaction anymore, no teaming up, no revenge, no personal made story). But I’m not going talk about that. This is my final message: MAKE UNTURNED GREAT AGAIN. (P.S. a true unturned gamer uses the sportshot) (also why did they change the Honeybadger to the pdw and the colt to the 1911) (make the game better instead of making the game less nostalgic by changing random names) Thank you everyone.

I’ve also been playing since 2016 as well. Yea, the vanilla gameplay is the best imo, simply finding a vanilla server that doesn’t have kits and crazy stupid mods that turn the game into a RP or a team death match is so annoying. I just want a simple zombie survival

I check up on this game every so often, as it was my childhood, it's weird to see this still doesn't have any type of official vanilla servers. The fact that Vanilla doesn't exist anymore is actually the reason I don't play this game. I like survival, none of this, as you put it, "Hentai RPG 100000 times loot semi half not-so-vanilla" BS.

Vanilla gameplay is as bad as the heavily modded ones. STOP. Everyone knows how multiplayer searching works, its the same in every game wtf. Best servers for new people are like 3x or 5x. I remember when I was new, my biggest problem was how building works, how to make a chest, how to lock a door and how to reload a magazine. These 4 things are hard to reliaze for new players. Now I have around 1,5k hours. Back in the day when you could raid with machine guns, that was the best time I had.

Nelson doesn't have a UX guy. Or a UI guy. Nelson has Nelson. That's not a good thing, but it's the truth. Being able to make games and having passion doesn't mean you make great ones. Unturned looks like it was made by a young programmer guy because it was.

*Unturned has a Serious Issue* That is toxic part of community that plays on survival servers where people just want to play survival and kills them. Its *Survival* game with pvp not PVP with survival. Play on PVP focused servers dont ruin game to them (I have over 2k hours on unt)

I have over 300 hours of playtime on this game, and I can tell you, I treated this like Minecraft. As in, single-player first, multi-player second. I went on a server ONCE and it was an absolute modded mess as was described.

Based opinion, I got my friends a while back into the game and commit a big mistake by letting them pick a server while I go to the bathroom. I bet you know what happened, they got into a fucking weird ass modded Russian sever In Russia with 200ms and they were not able to get out o the bottom of the map, doesn’t matter how many times I told them to get them into another good sv they just feel this game is bs, maybe it lost its path and it is actually bs.. miss the old times

"Only 50k people play unturned per day" honestly doesn't feel true because if you look at the server list during peak times it doesn't look ANYWHERE close to 50k people

I do struggle with finding servers, i usally Just play the servers you play, you are good at finding good servers

Unturned just needs better servers in general, im talking literally just a create server button, add workshop mods button, and such

almost every server i join is a damn cyrilyc russian speaking only server...

Also just make it easier to make a server on your own and play with your friend without having to find the perfect server. Which usually gets wiped as soon as you get some good loot.

Youre wrong about the vanilla server there is a sever group called SOD (Survive or die )which is very popular and populated

I play zebruh net 100x but raids are so often you can’t make a base and it’s so easy to raid. I want to find a server where I can keep a base for more than a couple days rn I can’t keep one for a day, all metal 15 sentry’s. Takes 10 minutes to raid.

I have spent over 150h playing Unturned SINGLEPLAYER. I have played a bit with my friend once, but we played on a server with a very high drop, Washington map. We played for a bit and then changed a server to "kinda vanilla" one, Russia map. Since there was like teleports and stuff, but still kinda a mess. I started the game playing solo and only after 100h of playing I played multiplayer for a bit. Didn't like it, went back to vanilla singleplayer. I only played maps with quests, because they gave me a reason for playing, as well as those with achievements. I still play maps with quests, but only Curated ones. How do I not get bored? I sometimes get determined of playing but after an hour or two I just leave the game and come back the other day, to yet again do the same thing. I usualloy put some music in background. TL;DR I'm not into Unturned servers, because there is not enough vanilla servers with NORMAL LOOT chances. Also a lot of KOS, but that's besides the point. Playing solo is boring, and is mostly forced to be played on maps with quests or achievements, because we have a goal.
