Have a listen to some of the unusual instruments that I came across lately.
Here´s some info to each instrument, followed by a link to the original video.
#1 Factory Fan Bass: By attaching a disk with holes to the fan, it converts blinks of lights to electric signals and generates sound from a bass amplifier. Different numbers of holes can generate a musical scale, and turning on/off of the power makes it roar.
• Factory Fan Bass │ 工場扇...
#2 A nyckelharpa is a traditional Swedish musical instrument. It is a string instrument or chordophone. Its keys are attached to tangents which, when a key is depressed, serve as frets to change the pitch of the string.
(no source)
#3 The hammered dulcimer is a percussion-stringed instrument which consists of strings typically stretched over a trapezoidal resonant sound board.
• Everybody Wants To Rul...
#4 The sador is the synthesis of the lute, the Indian sitar and guitar.
• Street musician in Mos...
#5 Two Arduinos are used as capacitive touch sensors, which deliver a midi signal.
• Playing The Gummy Bear...
#6 The Carnyx, is a wind instrument of the Iron Age Celts, used in warfare between 200 BC and 200 AD.

The Carnyx sounds disturbingly beautiful to me. I would love to hear it traversing a post apocalyptic open world in a game, or thrown into a prog rock album interlude. It sent shivers down my spine in this educational setting, I couldn't fathom the feeling of it being masterfully crafted along an entire art piece designed to be enhanced by it.

It's a fantastic use of the instrument, even having its own solo at the end. We should really promote using more instruments, even in places where they seemingly might not fit.

@@traviscalvert457 typical drug user talk. if you like to use, use it, but as every drug you can do and see crazy shit while tripping on it. the thing with mushrooms is that it is portrayed as soooo safe but actually isnt. the safe levels of usage depends a lot on the type of the shroom, and people often use it way over the "recommended" amount as it is something with very little to no study developed about it. drugs arent good and will never be.

My favorite musician of all time famously used a hammered dulcimer for a number of his songs. It doesn't seem that strange to me because I've heard it so often. "Calling Out Your Name" is probably the best- known of his songs that heavily feature him using the hammered dulcimer.

Imagine you’re a Roman Legionnaire, you’re walking through a foggy valley, knee deep in mud, you can barely move through said mud in your heavy armour, then, the howling sounds of a few Carnyx echo through the valley. You swear you see shadows moving about just beyond your view limits, you hear quiet Celtic whispers ahead and all around. Fear sets in, in you and the men around you.
