As South African African 😢, white folks we need you much as you need us. Somebody once said if you want to go ,go alone but if you want to go far go together 🇿🇦

I was asking why there isn't any single white player...As an African, I think the white citizens shouldn't just be sideline but must be embraced.

I’m a black South African and I don’t have reason to support bafana bafana, a team that can’t win cups.

We all need to understand that the problem in football in South Africa is that there is no proper development. Hence we don't have world class players. The real problem is Safa.

It's just a lame excuse. What if the Springboks (for example) can be in situation of not doing well, same as Bafana Bafana. Would other races stop supporting them? Not at all.

I am a white South African that supports Bafana and Banyana and watched them during the Afcons when they came 3rd. I was very proud of the performance. But the main two reason why most white South Africans imo do not support Bafana is because 1. Afrikaners in general don't watch soccer. Afrikaans people in South Africa I think care more culturally about sport than English South Africans, in general. And the sport for Afrikaans people is rugby, and then cricket. English White South Africans who care about sport usually care about cricket and then rugby, and then hockey. And if they watch football it is EPL. And then if you are not a fan of rugby or cricket, usually they are a fan of Motorsport, or Surfing, or Swimming, or Athletics. So the first reason is there is a lot of competition from other sports already. The second main reason why many white South Africans don't realy support soccer is that in most schools where white South Africans go, they don't give soccer as a sport activity. I remember when I was in high school some friends and I asked the headmaster if we could start a soccer team in the school. And he said, no, because this is rugby school. And I think that if you don't have access to the sport, than your chances of being a fan also are lower. Anyway that is just what I think. Have a great day.

No matter what happens, the majority of White South Africans will never support Bafana Bafana. They don't support Banyana Banyana ( our women's national football team ) despite its sterling performance

It rooted to our history perhaps,Back then there were good players like Shoes, Doc,Mark Fish... yet even then,I don't think Whites watched Bafana Bafana.Anyway why should we even care or make it a debate,we African need to Support,CARE ABOUT EACH OTHERs and our interests so that we develop internally

In my opinion, we're making excuses for the lack of support. Banyana Banyna just recently won the women's football AFCON, there was still no support from my White folk. You can give criticism to the team, and still support them. Bafana Bafana has not been at its best for the past I dont know how many years, but something about this team has obviously changed. Our players are good, really good. We can express our disappointment in them for not keeping up with the rest of the National teams in terms of standards, but still support them. So I don't buy the excuse hore the White community doesn't support the boys because they're low or mediocre quality. Even if they were excellent players, they'd probably still not support them.

As a non south african, Its shameful to see how my fellow black folks are seeking validation from yt folks . Why is this even a debate in the first place ?

Soccer is just plain boring for me and the thing i hate most is when people go for tackels the opposing player always fall to the ground yelling and screaming holding his face or leg just to get a penalty or to get a player send off. Look, what's actually needed here is for Bafana to recruit more quality players in the squad so that we'll be able to win certain trophies. Major white supoort won't win us trophies🤷‍♂ and again let us not forget that was the first SEMI-FINAL Bafana Bafana reached in 23 years and The BOKS won 2 WORLD CUPS in that 23 years period so for people to compare that BOKS got way more support than Bafana Bafana is absurd. Yes we love Bafana Bafana but they got long way to go to finally have same support as the BOKS

Don't most Afrikaans follow rugby & cricket compared to football anyway ? It's more cultural than anything else. If South Africa had a good Ice Hockey team in the Winter Olympics to rival the north Americans & Europeans, would black, biracial & Asian South Africans support them 100% ?

The real reason is because safa was racist to all the non black kids and implemented BBE into soccer... So why must people support a club that held us back from being a top player... I speak from experience

Always going on about colour & race...there's the more important 'question' about the quality & actions of players on & off the pitch. As an Indian growing up in South Africa, being unaware/ignorant of the wider world of sport, i thought we had the greatest football team. We used go to the local grounds that hosted the likes of Amazulu, Manning Rangers & other KZN aka Natal teams...great times. No striking over their paychecks..the players were there for the love of the game..fast forward +-40yrs & what do we have?? Getting paid for mediocrity. OUR football players should be on the world stage..THEY should be international players because as South Africans, WE should dominate the continent & try our best to be internationally recognised as such.

But this is years ago when he was still minister of sports., I think it's in 2016

Safa need to make sure they encourage young white footballers and create an inclusisve football development for young stars.

I don't think this is really the view of our white family in sa.i can say though development is needed to bring more of other race groups to football.The other issue is the fact that mostly players that play local football are considered for bafana selection.

the football system is honestly bit good in our country n we can do better. Im a do hard football fan n academy owner but i an go 2yrs without a banana game. I live football n watched a lot of fbafana games growing up but honestly the standard is very low n mafias run the league so that bore.

I don't think its about race. The problem is safa has been ruining Bafana Bafana by not investing heavily into development and not giving coaches some enough time to build the team. There will be obvious disappointment even from black people, doesn't mean you dont support them

I'm not surprised for such questions,This is the sport that is not respected in some corners of our country. How can we have loadshading while national team is playing only rugby was respected in all games but there was loadshading to wash the game. Unpatriotic , disgrace and disgusting but we pay rates ,tax and dstv actually we will be forced to pay like taxis when they were on strike because it's a sport that means nothing for that sake , Africans are not respected they need to prove themselves who are really are in our so called country.

As a south african nobody can force me to support any team whether rugby,soccer or cricket .I support motor sport and it is more exciting than watching grown men chasing a ball,whether round or oval around a field
