Fun fact: Archeologists just found the oldest known tablet (9th C. B.C.) about a great flood, similar to the biblical story but from different culture. I tend to agree with your perspective on how God was trying to protect them and get them to a place of desiring truth and understanding above doing continual sacrafice. It's still the same in that religious self effort seems to be our human way of aporoaching God until we learn to trust Holy Spirit to guide us. The tricky part is in trusting God is outside the church and even the Bible too. That is a huge stretch and act of trusting God beyond what we thought was absolute truth. Kind of like Abraham in that--a calling to go beyond culture and into a deepening relationship.

Indeed! God is outside the institution of the church, and the Bible. God isn't Christian nor is God religious. God just IS. No words in any language can describe Elohim's essence. Thank you for your candid comment.

I’m not sure I get the logic here. It is people who create the sacrificial system which God did NOT intend (I believe that part) and yet God says that those are shadows of the real thing and Jesus is coming to fulfill the things God never intended…? I don’t understand… If God never wanted sacrifice, how is it even a shadow of the real thing? How is Jesus a fulfillment of something God did not want?

Assuming that their belief has any truth to it , what kind of Messiah or god accepts human torture and killing , animal torture and slaughter for any purpose but to eat. I know their faith is wrong , but the consequences for destroying Al Aqsa will be severe for all parties involved or not.
