Town centres look absolutely foul now between the vape shops, Turkish barbers, phone case shops and takeaways. They always have the most tacky looking shop fronts too, nothing classy like an old greengrocer with some nicely painted forest green doors and windowsills. Just garish explosions printed on plastic.

The AfD has some edgy elements (partly because these don't have really anywhere else to go) but the core is center right from 20 years ago. And noone would have batted an eye on any of their stances in the 1980s when the right wing of Kohl's CDU (and especially the Bavarian CSU) would have been right of most of today's AfD. After all, a Lesbian leader would have been unthinkable for the CDU only 15-20 years ago.

2:45:15 As a former liberal, I'm not sure I ever _actually_ equated liberty with liberalism; instead, I think I considered liberalism to be more like "liberty++". Now I consider liberalism to be more of a social state than anything, in the sense that it can only truly exist/be maintained in the sense referred to here 2:46:53-otherwise it simply devolves the same way as anything else, and is therefore ultimately impractical. I think managing to achieve the social state of liberalism is like a high water mark that indicates a sufficiently high IQ group of people reflected on the brutality of their past & decided to strive for something better. What happens after is another story entirely, and the concept of equality always seems to present the turning point where the "unqualified" are given equal input & the whole thing falls apart.

What sucks about the Oct 7 date is the matter of the truth of what actually happened on that date. The evidence, as more and more comes in c.o.n.s.i.s.t.e.n.t.l.y. and points to the origins of this being part of, and the culmination of the largest and most violent real estate deal of our times whose actual origins and 'contract-signing' were in 1917.
