Thanks for the info. I received 10% for right shoulder sprain in 2007. Now it has osteoarthritis along with other issues. Going in for an increase claim C&P exam next week.

Very good info. Not humerus at all. My condition is a little more comical. I haven't found the ICD code for comical yet but have lots of evidence just in case. Seriously though, I have a manila folder with records of my shoulder condition I'm going to review now. Thanks!

Hey Boss. If I've got multi directional bilateral shoulder instability in my records, will whatever rating that get me stack on top of pain on movement? Or would they only take the highest of the two? I've read that you only get either pain or ROM, but does instability go under that as well?

I am having shoulder surgery this week and I know I should have filed for my shoulder condition ... Where can I find the Ratings and specific criteria for the ratings in 38 CFR for my shoulder, I fell when I was in the military and my left side of my body has constantly given me issues. I hurt my shoulder during service and its in my records. My other shoulder now is messed up because of over compensating for the original injury. Would i beable to file for both shoulders?

My VSO had me submit my claim for “upper back” but the injury impacts my neck and scapula as well. The back DBQ doesnt have anything for those symptoms. Can I submit multiple DBQs for one claim or would I have to do entirely new claims for cervical spine and shoulder?….because that would realllllyyyy suck

I didn’t know about the over compensating using a non dominant arm for your dominant arm being my right would be a secondary i just found this out…don’t you think that would be a given if it’s proven or shown in your military records that you are right arm dominant and your claim is for your left arm?

You know I did 20 years of service but retired out of the national guard of which you don’t get a VA exit exam like that active duty do. However I did upload all of my deployment documents along with my 20 year letter and finally the length of my deployment and my DD214 all to support my claim having no military records thankfully I’m doing this within my 1 year of being retired the kicker in all of this is my documents which state I did my 20 years and I am a combat retiree during a time of war if need be I will certainly claim the secondary cause my arm damage I had to utilize my right arm which is my dominant arm it sucks ti have gone for long 14 and 16 months during the early days of the Iraq war but that’s what it was back then I look back now an think I did I survive for so long during those days some years ago I actually had a chaplain assistant recognize me we were going down memory lane lol I actually got carded for getting a drink at chili’s a while back that’s because those of us that are just now retiring joined up young like 18 19 20 years old fighting for our country but man it was well worth it….my advice to those folks joining now young it’s not going to come easy the branches are like a living breathing entity you have to fight that thing of making it to 20 years an make your bitch and after fighting for so long you’ll master how the different services are conducted and finally get that 20 year letter

Hi Clay Question about right shoulder rotator cuff surgery (3 years and reconnect the bicep). I went into my neurologist last spring complaining pain and numbing running down my arm and dropping things as small as a glass of water. I was sent to Orthopedic surgeon and he asked how this happened - determined wear and tear over time. I had a bad fall on the C5 aircraft during Desert Shield/Storm deployment, my right foot got caught in a equipment roller and I fell forward while carrying a 50 lb duffle bag, my white body took the brunt of the fall but the ER only focused on my right ankle sprain, given crutches and ibuprofen for pain and sent back to duty. Through out my deployment my job was lifting and carrying patients on liter carry’s onto transport vehicles as well as filling lifting 50 lb sandbags to build our bunkers. Sorry long winded but I was wondering since the ER did not note my shoulder, back, neck or any other part of my body was not noted in my records. Is there any way of claiming this shoulder surgery (I know it’s not normal wear and tear) but it’s been since 1991😢

Hey great video, but I am unclear about your bilateral comment? I am rated 20% in each soldier with chronic pain. However, I do not understand how to go about obtaining a rating for the pain in my shoulders. And I have been receiving shots and using meds for the pain for well over a year. Also going to acupuncture and physical therapy. Appreciate any suggestions! Thanks for your service to veterans!
